I had this and it was the worst. I paid like $500 for it too. It lost suction almost right away. They told me to take it to a certified repair store but it was really far away and I never got around to it.
I also have a ball animal Dyson (don't know the model offhand).
We have 2 Australian Shepherds, so any vacuum we had prior to this one lasted less than 6 months - and we only have a couple area rugs, the rest is hard wood/tile.
It's held up really well. I do feel like the canister has a low capacity. I've had it a couple years and still feel like the hose is really tight/inflexible. I also constantly fear it breaking and having to pay a fortune for repair.
I'd say if you have animals, $200 is a great price for one.
