A thousand times yes to tucks pads and /or cooling gel and the hemmie pillow, cheap granny panties, disposable nursing pads, lanolin for nipples.
The peri bottle the hospital gives you is a lifesaver, as well as the giant insulated water cup (I'm planning to ask for an extra one this time if they're feeling generous, they're so handy to have to keep up with post-partum/nursing thirst.)
Ughh my hospital doesn't give those cups and I was soooooo looking forward to getting one of those! DH did go to the gift shop and get me a fancy insulated straw cup though, but it wasn't the same...

serendipity731 I used cloth breast pads. I got a bunch from the coupon codes you get like carseat canopy and udder covers. Can't remember the name of the pad one, but it's part of that string of companies. I basically paid for shipping. Still have them and plan to reuse them for this pregnancy. I think I have like 20 of them.
The milk saver thing is called Milkies. Get 2. I usually was able to collect 2 oz per side. Especially in the beginning when I was making all the milk.
I also really loved Earth Mama Angel Baby for a nipple cream. It didn't stain my clothes like lanolin and medela brands did. It was also not sticky at all. I tried it and never looked back.
I am trying Thinx undies instead of those mesh undies this time. I got a rash from the mesh ones that lasted 3 months pp. Not doing that again.

Peri bottles are cheap on Amazon! I bought a few extras to keep in all our bathrooms. I made DH stop at CVS to buy a hemeroid pillow on the way home from the hospital last time but it was uncomfortable AF even half inflated. I think I'm going to try bringing one of my horseshoe-shaped neck pillows (like for plane rides) to sit on. The lamely filled micro-bead one will probably be the most comfortable. +1000 for ALL. THE. SNACKS. I had packed a whole duffle bag of snacks for my labor team which came in very handy but threw the leftovers in a basket for next to my bed which was even handier. I dipped on that thing for like a month. The preparation H WIPES as opposed to Tucks (or other round) pads are better because they are a large square, easy to place in your undies vs having to lay 3 or 4 round pads in a row in your undies. Bring your boppy to the hospital. Have an eye mask so you can sleep during the day while baby sleeps. I'm terrible at napping no matter how tired I am so this was helpful.
I also recommend bringing your breastfeeding pillow to the hospital. I also brought my own pillow, just make sure it doesn't have a white pillowcase or you might confuse it with theirs
