Last night was the first time I missed bedtime with the kiddos and I survived. We were at a friend's wedding, so MIL and sFIL watched them and had a fabulous time. She failed with the CDs though cause she said they kept leaking. We rarely get leaks. Oh well! It was nice to get out and have some kid-free fun.
My MIL has seemingly had it out for cloth since day one. She would also claim leaks. Once she didn't want to deal with poop in a cloth diaper, so she just left it outside until we got home. 🙄 (Actually, our old nanny used to do that, too. No longer our nanny.)

Awesome about your kid-free night!
Yea. She said they peed through all of them, which I find hard to believe. I left her the aios so that it would be easier. She went through 8 or 9 of those plus the change into their overnight diapers in the time that should have been 3 changes total, maybe 4 for L. Ha, and then when I got back she said she didn't know if I wanted her to put the aios in the diaper pail or not (uhhhh, I wrote down that all dirties go in there), so she'd stacked them around the dresser awaiting further instructions. Sigh. At least the overnight fitteds under a cover she put on them didn't leak! I was anticipating wet babies in the morning.

Hi ladies, it's been a while since I've posted or even been on, but I have been sending positive vibes hoping all is well with everyone.
I see the randoms thread has also been moved to the private board. I never requested the password for the private board so I will post my update here.
DS is almost three months and he sleeps pretty well. He wakes once maybe twice a night. At his two month appointment he was a few ounces shy of doubling his birth weight. His pediatrician is happy with his development so that makes us happy. He is such a happy baby, loves when you interact with him and usually only cries when he's hungry.
We had various family members come out to visit, the last of which was my dad (my mother passed away 8 years ago). While my dad was visiting he was experiencing sharp pains on his right side. I offered to take him to the doctor but he wanted to wait until he went back home as he lived out of state and figured if there were follow ups it would just be easier. He went to the doctor the day after he got home and they found a large mass on his liver. After further tests it was determined he has liver cancer and is now scheduled for surgery at the beginning of September. It's a very scary sounding surgery and I am praying it all goes exceptionally well. I am unable to go see my dad before his surgery because DD has a specialist appointment for a condition she was born with scheduled for the day after his surgery. We have to make her appointment six months in advance.
On top of that we had a series of thunderstorms and a large tree fell on our house damaging about a third of our house, including the master bedroom and DS's room. Thankfully it happened around dinner time so no one was in bed. Tree branches came through both bedrooms with debris (ceiling drywall etc) crashing through and landing in the crib.
We have been living at a hotel ever since awaiting our insurance to approve the contractor's estimates. There is a lot of work to be done and are expecting it to take a while, so much so the insurance company is now offering to rent a house / put us in corporate housing.
DD is not handling things well and it is quite understandable. She has had the arrival of a sibling, the trauma of hearing the tree crashing through our house and having to leave her home and as of this week she transitioned to the two year old room where she no longer has her familiar caregivers and there are additional kids since the teacher/child ratio increases at this age. She has started having what I believe to be night terrors and they last for what seems to be forever but I guess it's about half an hour.
Life has been so hectic and stressful but I am trying to keep a positive attitude and make positive affirmations every day.
Sorry for the novel.
Hope everyone is doing well and as our babies turn three months sleep gets better for all.
Outofhiding I'm so sorry for everything that is going on in your life right now. I hope that your dad's surgery goes well and that he is able to make a full recovery. Will he be doing chemo or radiation after the surgery? I'm so sorry about the damage the tree caused to your house, but happy that no one got hurt. I hope the repairs go quickly and you can get back to your house soon. Your DD has had to deal with a lot of changes and I hope she starts doing better in her new class. FWIW when my DS moved up to the 2 year old class, he struggled for a little while before he eventually settled in and was happy again. I hope the same happens with her with time.

Thank you. It was hard for me to get answers from my dad as he is 80 years old and forgot a lot of the questions I suggested he asked and I think he was just overwhelmed. My siblings who live in the same state as my dad were actually traveling overseas when he was diagnosed so they were not at his last few appointments with him. I am hoping now that my sister is back, she can try and get s handle on things. His surgery is on September 7 and I have no idea what the follow up treatment will be.
When we dropped DD off yesterday morning, she screamed and clung to me. It was heart breaking. One of her friends from her infant group came over to greet her and tried hugging her a few times but DD wanted no part of it. We eventually had to leave her crying in the arms of one of her teachers. When we went to pick her up in the afternoon, she did not want to come with us and clung to one of her teachers. That was also heart breaking but hopefully that signals she had a good day as they communicated to us.

Outofhiding, oh my, so sorry to hear about everything, especially happening at once! I really hope your dad's surgery goes well and that your sister is now there for appointments. I'll be thinking of your family.
All of those transitions and complications have got to be so hard for DD. FWIW, wanting to stay at daycare does suggest to me that her day there went well! Night terrors are the worst, though--they always leave me feeling so helpless. I'd think corporate housing or a house would be more comfortable for you (hopefully DD too) all than a hotel, yay insurance. Thank goodness no one was up there during that storm.
Outofhiding- wow, that is so much to handle! I hope your dad's surgery goes well. Is there a timeline as to when you might be able to get back in your house? I hope that your daughter continues to adjust as each day passes and is ok being dropped off as well as being picked up.
Outofhiding I'm so terribly sorry for all that you are going through. We are just coming out of a really bad medical stretch with my FIL who is almost 79, so I totally get how scary this is. I am sending lots of prayers for your Dad and your family. I hope that the surgery and recovery go smoothly. How incredibly scary that a tree fell on your house! I'm so glad no one was up in those rooms! I hope you are able to work with the insurance company to find a housing solution better then a hotel and fx the repairs go quickly and smoothly. It is no wonder your DD is struggling! That is so much to deal with! Hopefully the night terrors will stop soon. That has to be so stressful and scary for both of you. You are so strong to be handling all of this! Sending you love and hugs!

So I've officially gone back to work and DD started daycare. She's doing ok, not really napping for them and they feed her 4oz every 2 hours (yet she goes 3-4 hours between feedings at home). She sleeps mostly through the night which is awesome since I'm having to get up at 5:15 now instead of 7am. In the time she's at daycare she's drinking 12-16 oz and sadly I'm only pumping 10-12 right now at work. I've started taking fenugreek (3 pills 2x a day) so hopefully that helps and I've majorly upped my water. I'm also only able to pump 2x at work, during my lunch and at the end of the day once the students are gone. I'm hoping this doesn't cause my supply to tank.
I've also started attending a weekly "Stroller Strides" class that is put on by Fit4Mom and I'm hoping to increase it once I've established a better routine with work and DS and DD's evening class. Life is just way too crazy and chaotic right now!!
DH and I have also decided to bring in a professional painter to paint our kitchen, living room, hallway and master bedroom. It's just my brother, but the house needs some updating. We are hoping to put it on the market next spring. On top of that happening this weekend we are going to be gone at the cabin all weekend with my ILs.....ugh way too much going on.

lakecountrygal I'm having the same discrepancy between what my DS drinks during the day and what I can pump at work. I've added two additional pumping sessions at home - one after a MOTN feed and another after the first morning feed. It's a pain in the ass but it's the only way I can keep up with him. Water, oatmeal, and fenugreek seem to have no effect on my supply.

lakecountrygal hopefully your production ramps up with the fenugreek. I know everyone is different but eating oatmeal for breakfast daily and taking the liquid Mothers Milk (fenugreek), they did wonders for me the last time. Hopefully they help you too.
