jags8 i'm pretty sure you just popped up in my 'people you may know' on Facebook - I guess because of IG? These algorithms are a little too know it all sometimes.
birkmmm is on my "people you may know". We have a mutual friend and we follow each other on IG! FB is creepy like that (and apparently so am I!)
M cut his first tooth today! He has buds where each canine will be, but surprisingly got his lower incisor first. H was a late teether, so this is a surprise.
DD1 didn't have school today. They did parent-teacher conferences. To their amazement I had to bring DD1 because we don't have a helper but her teacher loves her. I've heard lots of issues with the teachers thinking the American kids are too bossy/disrespectful but no, the teacher sort of gushed about her but said she's reluctant to learn Spanish. Which is hard, because I don't speak it and we don't have a helper so she isn't exposed to it outside of school. DH doesn't care (and I don't really) because we probably won't be in a Spanish speaking place again after this but the teacher she'll move too next doesn't speak any English.
The weather here is almost always really nice but the Uber drivers don't turn on the AC... they all roll down the window a tiny crack and I'm always dying. It gets hot in a car, fast, and I love my AC. I'm not exactly looking forward to driving here but at least once I get my driver's license I can pump the AC.
I'm dreading teeth. LO is a clamper when she's nursing and I'm terrified that she's going to bite my nipple off.

Hello! We were supposed to go up north, but the baby got sick. She's totally fine today so we should've gone. Oh well, I'll start the day with boot camp and then a screwdriver..
Oh cool, where in Colombia? Is your H military? And where would you like to go back to in Asia? @east
He is a foreign service officer (does visas here) we were in Manila before and loved it. We have to see what jobs are available but South Korea is our dream difficult to get job. Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam. We might have to go back to DC for a year or two though. Overseas jobs are hard to get this round.
My new nephew was born last night! (This is the one who has almost the same name as DS).
We are going to go visit in the hospital today - would you guys bring your LO? Not sure if we should or just go ourselves.
I brought DS with me when I met my new niece last month. We visited in the morning on our way to daycare/work. From my experience, I would only bring DS if your H is also going, so one of you can hold your DS while the other can hold the new baby.
I didn't care what ages kids were when they came to visit me.
I think our hospital has that policy too, but don't enforce it.
I know with our first we had a visit from her "boyfriend" who is only two weeks older. With this second we held off visitors that weren't grandparents until we were home.
I'm pretty sure ours enforces it. My mil brought my husband's niece when I had my oldest, and she was like 7 at the time. My husband had to sit in the waiting room with her the whole time she was there. Did I mention we had previously told my mil she couldn't come?
I get why they don't want a bunch of germy kids there, so I don't think it's a big deal.. they just have to wait a few days until we get home.
I think my hospital has that rule, but only during flu season.
We ended up bringing ds. It wasn't a big deal because there were FOUR other toddlers there and eight adults. 😯😯
DD and I made a trip to target. I don't generally buy her clothes because we have so many but they had the extra 10% off so I got her some cute jeans 9-12 month. Also a cute shirt for the fall. She did so good and fell right asleep when we got home.
jags8 sounds just like MH! I had a horrible headache last night but I still put her to bed, did the MOTN feeding and woke up with her. Yet if MH is even slightly feeling sick he is bed ridden.
We went to target too and I started looking at the clothes and stopped myself since we have an insane amount of hand me downs from my 10mo niece. I do typically buy a couple cute things in each size though.

@smellybooks, in my mind it's crazy because I couldn't handle the hours and don't have the skills of multitasking, remembering so much and balancing the trays. I'm clumsy, flustered and forgetful.
DH encouraged DD1 to pick something to be for Halloween. She decided she wants to be a shark so we're doing a Jaws family theme. I figured we'd just go as guys on the boat but DH then decided that was too lame... I don't give a flip, I didn't order him the grey sweatshirt. He can figure it out himself.
I got a denim button down and those glasses to wear. I ordered DD1 a grey hoodie and we'll "pinterest" together something using felt and a hot glue gun.
DH has man flu. It's actually strep, but he is milking it for all it's worth.
Mine too!!
I'm doing my best to keep putting out sympathy but the dramatics are too much! Lol!
I have zero sympathy for him now! I told him to go to the walk-in on Wednesday but he refused! He could be feeling great right now if he had listened to me.

Eek, that's a lot of people! She must have a big room because there's no way that many bodies would fit in my hospital room! It was cramped when my parents were in there. I hope you got some time with the new baby!
@ismellbooks, I waited tables in a upscale restaurant for 2.5 years and I was miserable. I hated the hours and I was in my early 20s. I can't imagine doing that now with kids!
Our a/c is out and has been since yesterday morning. It is warm and humid here. We can't get it fixed until this afternoon, so I'm taking the troop to MIL's. Kids are crabby AF and so am I!

Yea, um, it was insane. They didn't seem to mind but I would have lost my shit with that many people there. They actually got upset at us after our birth because we didn't allow them to come to the hospital. They don't really understand boundaries or wanting privacy.
My good friend's water broke and she's in the hospital. She's 28 weeks. They're hoping to keep the baby in as long as possible. I'm so worried for her. Having a preemie is so tough
DD was up 4 times last night. Of course MH slept through almost all of them.
Especially since LO moved into DD1's room DH doesn't hear anything... neither does DD1 though to be fair. Mom spidey sense.
He's been up a little more with this LO thought and in general she has slept better than DD1. With DD1 he always slept through her waking up, even though she woke up loudly every like 2 hours in the same room as us, and I wanted to smother him.
