I think I'm mostly worried about leaving DS because I've never done it overnight... We plan on remedying that before baby 2 comes. Basically, I'm a big wimp. And I have a hard time thinking about trusting my mil to watch him overnight. My mom is out of the question. Nope nope. I'd ask my grandma, because she's amazing with babies, but she's older and I don't think it's fair to ask her to do something so big as take care of him for several days. Although... Mil works during the school year, so my grandma may have to watch him during the day anyway. Ack! So complicated.
shawnabm1320 i totally get it. It was 19 months before I left DS overnight. And in his whole life, I've been away from him for 4 nights -- and two of those happened two weeks ago. Do you have legit concerns about your mil watching him? Or is it more irrational fear? (My mil has never watched DS or performed any care tasks for him ever in 2.5 years. My mom drives 80 miles one way to watch him...but I still got nervous leaving him with my parents for a weekend.)

shellbell, I don't really have any legitimate concerns. She is pretty good with him. She's way more free-spirited with things than I am (eat as much fruit as you want! Go to bed when you want!), and she seems to think that Forrest should do everything like her kids did, but he would be totally safe with her and it wouldn't be a huge deal. I mean, she'll be changing his diapers, so she'll see the after effects of all the fruit eating, and she'll be getting up with him, so she'll see what keeping him up late will do.
If we sent him with my mother, I wouldn't be sure he'd come back in one piece!! I'm still not sure how my sister and I got out alive. So, MIL is vastly preferable. And I know she'd try to do things similarly to how I do while we were away for a couple days.
It's just... Leaving my cute cuddly baby!! Hopefully he'll look older to me by then and I won't feel quite like I'm leaving a newborn or something? Lol

Gah, add me to the "how will I leave DS?" train... only he will be leaving our house and I'll be staying. I have a friend lined up to watch him (no family in the area) and he loves playing with her boys... but, still. The thought of him being gone overnight kills me.

I'm so intrigued by this bare minerals company. Do you just buy from their website, or do any stores sell their products?
There are bare minerals stores, and they're at Sephora and Ulta.
If you've never used it, I'd recommend going to a store so they can color match you and show you how to properly use it. The powder is really light and it's so easy to put on too much.
Plus, they sell started kits, so there's not much of a chance to be up-sold in person.
