cbowl that's exactly how I'm feeling about sex too. I know I should at least one more time before the baby for DH's sake, but I'm so swollen and tired it sounds awful.
hurricanerek good for you for nursing this whole time. It was so unpleasant I would only let DD nurse for 10 seconds or so before bed, but she's finally stopped asking these last few weeks.
pismoduo your ticker is making me crave pizza now. I hope the pups behave for you!
Thanks for all the well wishes for DD. The blisters don't seem to be bothering her but she was kind of a grump and not very nice to her friend. She was obsessed with their 1 month old baby though. Hoping this quiet time resets her day.
Is it pizza related? I haven't seen the new one yet because I've been mobile for a few days now.
I just ate a metric ton of Mexican food. My belly is happy.
Just got back from my midwife appt. I'm spilling protein into my urine, but my blood pressure is very low. I'm thinking either UTI or dehydration. She sent urine and blood off for testing. My SPD is UNREAL. She pressed down on my pubic bone to measure and I yelped in pain, which in turn made DS cry. And now I can barely walk.
I am not thankful today is Thursday because it means tomorrow is Friday and I start my set tomorrow. I hurt my back on Tuesday at work, still waiting to be seen by Occ Health. I tried to get a note from my family doctor to take the next 5.5 weeks off as sick leave (therefore still getting paid) but they can't see me until the end of September (gotta love universal health care). UGH
Why can't your MW write you a note for sick leave? Mine did at 36 weeks with a very vague "because of pregnancy" kinda of reason.

I dunno. My MW said it has to be an MD's note. The EI website said the same thing. I have an appt with Occupational Health tomorrow anyways so I'll see what they say.
Speaking of sick leave, does it affect your 52 weeks of mat/parental?
So I totally want to get things going. We went to ikea this evening thinking a good walk would help. Yea I was in so much pain. I made it 5-10 minutes and then hubs had to go get a wheel chair. So my arms got a work out anyways. 😕 So new plan going to have sex at least I'm laying in bed for that.

This doesn't make sense. You can start your mat leave EI 8 weeks before your due date. This will count in your 52 weeks leave. I'm not sure you need any note for that benefit. Your employer might ask for one though and your MW should be able to give you one. They are health professionals that are members of a College. They're note in this case is as valid as a dr's note. She should know better. This is really a non issue with my MW practice. They are in the same level as doctors for that type of things. They're not would work to for sick leave that you have accumulated with your employer. That's what I'm using at the moment.
I'm no EI expert, but maybe they mean the EI sickness benefit you'd need a dr's note. I'm not sure you'd even be allowed to take it since you have access to another benefit. This would not affect your 52 weeks, but you wouldn't get your top up either. If I were you, I would call Service Canada to know more.

Hang in there!
The MW is acceptable for EI but not for my employer. I'm trying not to start my mat leave early since I want to be able to have the full year with DD. Occupational Health is the one who suggested my MD write me off on sickness benefits. I don't have sick time from work since I'm technically only part time. Why wouldn't I get my top from my employer? I know I won't get topped up during sickness leave but I should still get it when it switches to mat/parental when DD is born? I called Service Canada today and they said to get a medical certificate filled out and then fill out an application. So thats going to be my Monday. I'm on modified for the rest of the weekend.

I meant that if you're not on mat/parental leave you wouldn't get your top up. Like if you were on sick EI for example. The moment you start your mat leave, the top up will start. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
I can't believe your employer won't accept the note from your midwife.

Yea I find it ridiculous but that's the hospital and government for you. At least they will reimburse me for the forms that need to be filled out.

So, the midwives can have privileges in the hospitals for births, but can't write notes... I'm in the federal government and it was a non issue. I'm really sorry you have to deal with this. I hope you can find a solution quickly.

She's really good *knock on wood* about referrals and doctor's notes so I'm hoping it's a non issue.
And the hospital is provincial....so that should say something about ontario lol.
