rvamama A lot of times, when a head gasket goes, you just trade in the car and move on. It's a really, really, really important part of the engine. If it blows, your car is basically done for. Mine is cracked, so not 100% gone. It's a giant pain to change them out. It's definitely best to leave that to a professional. Plus, SO hates working on cars. He'll change the oil in his truck, but that's about it.
Annnnnnd, I don't want SO touching my spark plugs. He once tried to change his and broke one. The professional had to drill it out of the truck!
