Sorry I've been MIA, we were visiting Hs grandma over the weekend, it was awful, I'm hoping it'll be several years before we have to go back, if ever. Within hours of getting there I was given flack because we're "still" BFing, I was shamed for not being interested in local church services, throughout the weekend there were comments about my decision to go back to work, and how I should stay home if H gets a new job, h was told to go take a nap (which he did) then grandma went and took a nap, leaving me alone with a cranky baby. There was never enough food and I was hungry all weekend. Guys, we were two blocks from the beach and my feet didn't touch sand once!!
Today has been a crap day. Why are 3 year olds so hard? It's a constant struggle/battle about every single thing from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to sleep. He gets mad about things he wants to do. I told him we were going to go get French fries and a milkshake and he yelled and yelled and yelled that he just wanted to go home. So I turned the car around and we came home. Of course he's been crying that he did want a milkshake ever since then. I give up.
I wanted a milkshake.
I'm sorry MH calls DS1 contrary because he always yells nonono to whatever you say to him. We usually wait about a minute and he will change his mind. i can see that 3 is going to be a game changer things have definitely ramped up the last couple of weeks. (He turned 3 on Friday)

F is definitely contrary and stubborn. He won't change his answer until you give up and then he cries because he didn't get it what he wanted. He just finds things to be mad at. Sigh...

Do you sportscast when he does that? I've tried it and I find myself laughing. "Yes. You are mad. You are angry because you wanted the blue spoon and mommy gave you the blue spoon. Sometimes I get mad when I get exactly what I want too (wait that's not right) sometimes I'm upset and need to cry too. To which he starts yelling nomamanono you don't say that. You don't cry I'm crying. Ugh. 10 seconds later. I happy now mama I got blue spoon I happy. Great son. I need a drink.

I haven't tried sportscasting with this situation. I need too! I get frustrated too easily which makes the whole ordeal worse, of course. Thanks for the advice!
