I'm having the most suburban Saturday imaginable. First, I babysat my neighbor's kids this morning. This afternoon we are going to a block party. Tonight the baby and I are going to a Lula Roe party.
Tomorrow is veg out at home day. I'm still catching up on laundry from our plumbing incident last week.
My mom is throwing a birthday dinner for my grandma tonight so we're just relaxing at home until it's time to head over. It's about an hour drive depending on traffic so I always get anxious about Sam having a meltdown on the way, luckily for the most part he's done well!
I'm at a family party at my moms. Baby R is meeting the extended family for the first time. My aunt bought my girls matching dresses and my 4yo lost her mind with excitement. I am too, it's hard to find matching clothes in 3 m and 4T.

I'm not usually into matchy-matchy but I love siblings dressed up fancy! I had a moment of dress grief when I learned this one was a boy but I'm still going to get them some Christmas outfits that match.
Just got back from a good long walk with L (middle kid),the baby and the two dogs. L complained most of the way (he doesn't really do outdoors or activity lol) but he toughed out the 3.5km so I was proud lol

S was so fussy last night so we didn't get much sleep. H and L went to the farmers market this morning while I stayed at home. Now we are all going grocery shopping, hopefully this goes ok.

Took both boys to an indoor playground and then to Dairy Queen for lunch. It went really well! DS1 fell asleep in the car on the way home, and by some miracle I managed to get him up to bed for another 40 minutes.
I spent my 40 minutes crafting instead of napping while L slept too.
We tried outlet shopping. It was more child management than shopping. The 2 year old decided to start potty training this week, the baby hates not being held, no naps for anyone, we really need a double stroller... I'm burnt. I think DH had a good time though.
Growth spurt happening here. E was up eating every 60-90 min most of last night, and won't let me set her down for more than 10 min today. Took a long walk with her in the K'tan and snuck a quick shower in. But we co-sleep so I'm feeling pretty touched out right now. Headed to the store to get some red vines to re-fuel (I'm sure that'll help with the 20lbs I still need to lose).
We took J on his first trip to the zoo today. He sort of enjoyed it. I think next year will be even better. A slept in my Tula the whole time. Baby wearing FTW. But the trip totally fucked everyone's nap schedule, so the afternoon has been a bit of a cluster.

Time for a beer.
Yay zoo! Do you use the infant insert in the Tula?
madamewaffles, I use the receiving blankets under the butt trick because I bought a used one online and I was too cheap to shell out another $30 on the insert. The blanket does the trick quite well for her.

I've been using a receiving blanket in mine too. A couple weeks ago I wasn't comfortable with his head control yet, but now it's working well.

We had DD's birthday party today and all of our extended family came and got the meet DS. It was so hot but a lot of fun. Luckily we planned some water activities for everyone. Now I need to sleep forever....lol.
I'm eating a bowl of ice cream on my bed in the dark, waiting for the baby to pass out hard in the RNP so I can go downstairs and watch tv. She threw the fit of all fits tonight, so hopefully she's tired.
We bought tile this morning and our tile guy came to give a bid and got started right away. He works crazy fast and will finish up tomorrow, which means I may have a functioning bathroom in a couple days! I think I'm going to take it over as my personal bathroom, H can have the old gross one upstairs all to himself

I am currently exhausted and FURIOUS at H.
Yesterday he emailed me at work and apologized for not helping more and told me he wanted me to come home from work and just rest and ice my knee (I have tendinitis and am supposed to be off it as much as possible) and he'd handle everything. Instead he snuck off to the liquor store on his way home so he was drunk when I got there, picked fights all night and passed out early leaving me with the night duties for the girls.
Then he backed out last night of going with me today to visit family two hours away because of his anxiety. My step sister is in from out of state and leaving Monday so this was my last chance to see her. This morning before I left he offered to make sure all the laundry was done as a trade for leaving me again with all the kids. I asked if he would wash the last few loads too since I thought he meant he was putting away the three loads I washed Wednesday.
After he had 10 hours alone with no kids I came home and he had washed and dried one load and put nothing away, claiming he meant he would wash the clothes when he offered this morning. He also didn't touch the dishes or the dirty bottles so I got home at 8:30 pm and had to bathe the kids and then go do dishes before feeding the girls. And I don't know if I have clean or un-wrinkled clothes for church tomorrow.
I am tired of being the only one who cleans around here just because I work my full 36+ hours in 3 days instead of 5. I have two newborns on my days "off" and can't get everything done during that time.
