To each their own but not for me. We had a hard enough time finding a second boy name that I'd hate to restrict myself to the same letter! And labeling things with initials instead of full names becomes impossible. Also DH and I have the same initials and so to do it to kids too seems like overkill but I have a friend who thinks it's amazing that all four of their family have the same initials.

Agree with this. I wouldn't box myself in to using only one letter for my kids, but if I happened to love a name that starts with the same letter, I'd use it.

Stormtroopooper I'm 99.9% sure we're two and through. So yes it would only be the two of them.
bromios right now the top contenders are Kai (DH's choice) and my new choice Evander (thanks to the lovely ladies here actually)
And Stormtroopooper it wasn't intentional. I came across Evander on the board here and I LOVE it. It just happens to be the same initial as DDs name (Emme.line). I figured if we were that close why not go with the same middle initial but didn't know if that was weird. Hence the poll lol

We love Kai. It was in our top 5 but seemed off with our three syllable Spanish last name. It was our runner up middle name but we went with a three letter first name so it seemed too short .

My two have the same first initial but i did not and would not use the same second initial. I loved my second's name enough that i didnt let having the same first initial as DD ruin it for me. I am most definitely two and through.

Our choice for a girl name has the same first letter as the name we used for DS but it was more of a fact that we liked both names a lot rather than wanting them match. Plus who I wish if we will even get to use our girl name....
I wouldn't side eye someone for intentionally having matching initials but it's a shame to limit yourself to names you don't love (if that's the case)

I picked SS. I guess I don't mind if it's just two kids. More than that gets a hard no from me. I also would never do it on purpose. If you happen to love a names that result in siblings having the same initials then use it. Don't go looking for it though.
I agree with pps that said I wouldn't avoid a name just because it has the same initial as sibling, but I wouldn't aim for the same letter. I'm not a Duggar or a Kardashian.
It's one of those things that I wouldn't go out of my way to do or to avoid. If my name choices happened to begin with the same letter, fine. But I'm not going to go out of my way to do it.
My sister & I have matching first initials and it didn't bother us. However, I would discourage matching middle name initials unless you LOVE the name. I liked that I could use my middle name to differentiate our initials & signatures.
I like it for two kids, but didn't do it myself because I wasn't sure we were done with two kids and I didn't want to feel pressured to use the same initial if we had a third. But if that isn't a concern of yours I have no problem with it!
My husband and I have names that start with A and we are naming our daughter Ava. The "same initials" thing was almost a dealbreaker (especially considering how popular Ava is) for me. But we really love the name.
