Ds1 starts DC tomorrow. He's going all day MWF while I'm on maternity leave. I really need this mentally, but I'm having a lot of guilt about it again.
B slept maybe an hour last night, and I'm convinced he has GERD. I didn't even know this was a thing. My BFF is a nurse and after I totally broke down on the phone about how I've been doing she mentioned B might have it. I looked it up. The only thing he doesn't have is weight loss. I have a call in to the pedi this morning.
Somethings gotta give here. I feel so bad for B, he is miserable. I am miserable.
melody330, Sorry for the rough nights. A friend of mine's son had GERD and as soon as they started treating it, he was an entirely different baby. Hopefully, the pedi will have answers for you.

Thank you for this. I really feel like this will never get better. I'm like 90% sure she will call in Zantac and we will see how he's doing at his two month visit in like two weeks.
I hope the pedi calls back ASAP melody330. I bet reflux meds would be a game changer for him (and you).
DD1 starts back at school tomorrow. Cannot wait. She needs the stimulation and other kids that school can provide. Today her best friend is coming over all day since his regular babysitter is sick. I'm excited for the kids to keep each other busy today.
I'm here for my weekly check in. My husband is on week two of his vacation so we've been trying to squeeze in as much doing as humanly possible. I'm not actually sure how everything is going on the kid front. I'm totally operating on autopilot. I think J is only waking up once at night. But how long is she awake? Is it 1:30am or 5:00am? I have no idea. It's all a blur.
I think DD1 is starting to understand that this little noisy thing is a person and not a funny doll. Getting the whole "gentle" concept down has been fun and exciting. I feel bad for J, she's going to have to grow up quick to avoid getting beat up by her big sister constantly. The two of them are going to be ridiculous.
DH has a second interview today. This is for the same job he applied for back in July.
DS has been grunting and moving a ton since I laid him back down. Think I'm up for the day since I know am hour of sleep will just ruin me mentally for the day.
I hate having to choose to either get stuff done or nap with baby. I totally get why women laugh at this now.
We had a shitty night. Started out okay with a 3 hour stretch but then it was every hour until H gave up and took him to the living room to sleep in his arms so one of us could sleep. A has been waking up in the MOTN for a week and a half now with massive nasal/chest congestion. I'm sure this is directly related to the reflux because he is screaming in pain as well. I put in a portal message to his pedi begging for something to try.
I asked DD if she wanted to go to the library today. She was really excited. Mom fail - the children's room is closed for renovations and reopens NEXT Tuesday.
What to do with a toddler and an infant on a rainy day? For now we're all snuggled on the couch watching Mickey Mouse.

melody330 I hope that the pedi can help and you two get some relief soon.
I am going to try to get H to offer a bottle to S again today. Last time S gulped the bottle down super fast even with a paced feeding. We are trying a different bottle this time so hopefully it goes well. I really need S to start getting used to taking bottles so it's easier when he goes to daycare.
I know I still have about 5 weeks left of maternity leave but I am dreading going back to work. H and I have been talking about trying for a third over and over but there is just no way we can afford 2 in daycare or for me to be a SAHM. It's just not going to happen and it sucks. H is going to call this week to see if the vasectomy is covered under his insurance. If it's not then I will call my insurance to see what is offered as a permanent solution.

I have heard from lots of moms that the Munchkin Latch has a super slow flow nipple and that the Dr. Brown one is the one to avoid, even with the slow flow nipple.

melody330 my DS1 goes to daycare two days/week and it's been a godsend. I sometimes feel guilty too, but it's better for everyone, including DS1. I use my time to shop, get stuff done, or lounge around snuggling the baby. So worth it!

+1 I look forward to Tuesdays and Fridays probably much more than is healthy. But those two days are as good for DD as they are for me!

Dr. Browns makes a Premie nipple which is great. That flow is so much slower than the level 1 which is way too fast for most BF newborns.

Hi everyone we had my brother's wedding last Saturday and i am still recovering from the weekend my house is a disaster of laundry and dishes and bags to unpack. I would love for ds to take a magical 2 hr day nap not on me...however this seems really unlikely. melody330 my daughter has been in daycare 3 days a week this whole time. I don't feel bad about it. She keeps some routine and gets to play instead of being bored a lot while i am tending to the newborn

We tried 3 different bottles -- mimjumi, Avent, and Medela, before success with Dr Browns. We use the preemie nipples as well since L was switched from BF to FF. I tried a level 1 nipple the other day just to see if he was ready and no way! I bought out the stock of two different target's Dr Browns preemie nipples lol. Otherwise he has had much less gas pain and spit up with these bottles.

Haha my baby needed a fast nipple! She needed the 3 month as a newborn. Such a piggy.
+1 to Dr. Brown's preemie nipples, they're the only ones Sam will take!
Not much going on here. I'm kind of bummed, today is H's only day off this week but the golf course he works at is closed today so he went golfing with a bunch of coworkers. Would've been nice to have a day with him instead of just a few hours here and there.
Thanks everyone. I got a chance to call the pedi right before their lunch. I had to leave a message with the nurse but B was screaming in my ear the whole time. The nurse asked if he did this all day. Basically yes.
Both boys are sleeping at the same time . It's a damn miracle. I'm going to lay down myself. There's half eaten food on my table and a pile of dirty dishes. IDGAF at this point!

melody330, hopefully the doctor will give meds & B can get some relief!
Saw the cardiologist, E does have a murmur but after EKG & ultrasound they said it's an "innocent murmur" so it's not serious & won't cause any complications.
I'm still waiting on results from stool sample from Thursday. I'm frustrated because I called today & they haven't gotten results back yet & E had more blood in his stool throughout the weekend. I get this was a holiday weekend but I want to know what the issue is so we can get it fixed ASAP.

H and I decided we are ready to sell our house. Housing is in high demand in our city and houses are selling like hot cakes. Our house is kind of a specialty home and would only appeal to a small crowd so I'm hoping that is in our favor. But really feel like we are crazy for listing our home with a newborn to keep up with. But we need more space.

TheTuna15 DS is having a hard time getting the gentle thing too. He ran by and just reached out and smacked Evie in the head. I thought H's head was going to explode.
We were outside almost all of yesterday and he fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow so I call that a win.
