Diapers are sofa king expensive. I tried to cloth diaper when Star was a newborn, and failed. Was way too much to adjust to life with a baby, recover from a c-section, and keep up with diaper laundry too. But it's absolutely unbelievable how much we're spending on diapers. So now I'm scouring ebay looking for a OS stash.
Check out the swap on the CD page. They usually have some good stuff. I know it's a ways off, but black Friday is a great day to order new diapers too.
I have all the CDs leftover from DD1 but they need new elastic in the legs and I just... not my thing, I don't sew and I wouldn't even know where to get elastic here. We bought new ones for LO. I'm thinking about seeing if LO's PT wants them. She mentioned that she wanted to use cloth but I'm not sure if it's rude to take her the leftovers I don't want or not?
@ismellbooks, hopefully it doesn't last long (the cold or the sprain)
DD1 had a fever last night and continues to have a stuffy nose and slept with me last night so I'm assuming it's coming.
DD1 decided to be a shark. I ordered a grey hoodie and a bunch of different colored felts so we'll make it together. If I have enough felt I might try to make something similar for LO to wear. Otherwise, depending on what time the Halloween party is at maybe DH will just stay home if LO is already in bed... he is the grinch of Halloween... well, and Christmas.
Today has been really, really hard. M has napped for a total of 10 minutes and H is super needy. DH is gone for work from 6am until 7pm. It's all good though, because my new Tula came! Maybe M will sleep in there.

@east, Hope DD feels better soon! LOVE the idea of a shark costume! I'm sad for your DH that he doesn't realize how amazing Halloween is
scotty138, I hope today has brought better sleep!!
I just ran over to talk to the owner and head trainer at a new gym opening soon. I've been sort of "homeless" for three years. I began at a very nice local gym and was there for nearly seven years. But then they closed for renovations and significantly downsized, and I found myself at a gym that had sort of MMA conditioning classes and fell in love. That ended up closing when their lease wasn't renewed and I migrated to a place that did boot camp style classes. And then I left when I was going through IVF because I wasn't able to keep up while bloated and swollen. Which led me to a big national chain, and I'm struggling to get into it there. So this new gym offers classes all day long starting at 5am (my favorite time!), bag classes (my favorite class!), conditioning, spin, and boxing instruction with sparring available. I'm super excited (and completely terrified--I am like horrifyingly out of shape!) It's insanely expensive, but I'm currently messing around with our budget to see if I can swing it!
After legit being trapped in the house for a week we finally got to go out today!! We... 1) went to the playground 2) went to the children's museum 3) played at splash park and playground outside museum 4) took H dinner 5) went to chic-fil-a and played in the indoor playground.
I think we made up for it! It felt great. And i loved that i could just bring along formula and not worry about how and when I could nurse Lo in public
Whoa. I'm exhausted just reading this post. You basically kicked today's ass! Way to go!
My H said one of the daycare ladies suspects L has an ear infection because he would scream when they laid him down today. At first I was defiant, bc how dare you think you know my baby better than I do? But then I recalled that last night he was screaming different and more urgent sounding, and he has felt a little warmer than usual the last few days, but not bad enough where I felt compelled to take his temp. Up probably 5 times in the night but generally went back to sleep easily by putting the paci back in. I've just been chalking his sleep changes up to the 4 month regression.
I hesitate to take him in to the walk in clinic. 1. I'd like to avoid his exposure to the sick germs, 2. K had an ear infection a handful of times in her first year and whenever we thought she had one, it wasn't one, and whenever we thought she was fine, turns out she had one.
WWA16D?
I would take him in. I've been in this position a million times between the 3 kids and it's only actually been an ear infection a few times. Still, I felt much better knowing that it wasn't an ear infection that I was just letting go. I don't want my kids (and my sleep) to suffer needlessly.

lovemyk, I would go in to get it checked just for peace of mind. Echoing adelbert--I had chronic ear infections as a kid and I can still remember how severe the pain was every single time. And even if it's not, I think you'll feel better just knowing
I had chicken and vegetables for dinner and I'm still hungry. Ugh. This is why I'm not losing weight lol
I've been going to boot camp 5 times a week and eating healthy dinners, wondering why I'm not losing weight. It COULD be all the beer, wine, chocolate and cinnamon rolls...
I am starting back at the gym on Friday. I am dreading it, I am so out of shape. And I am competitive, so being slow is going to kill me. It is a good coach on Friday though, she will not let me push harder than I should after such a long time off. I have an amazing deal at my crossfit gym, I assistant coach a class or two each week, and get free membership in exchange. I just don't know how I am going to fit in those few extra hours each week, I already feel so overwhelmed time wise. But I don't want to pay the insane price for a membership.
DH went to put money on my phone last night and came back with a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts... terrible idea. I know it's cheaper by the dozen but 4 would have been appropriate.
I love my OS cloh diapers. Sposies tend leak. Tubs has explosive poop.
I am having weight loss sucess with weight watchers. Its also forcing me to eat in a way that doesnt make me feel terrible.
Ive come to realise we need super easy dinner options right now or we will eat out. So we bought a ton of semi prepared food at trader joes this weekend

@lovemykk Proabably a bit late but definitely go in. Like others, I had recurrent ear infections as a child and it was absolutely horrible. I remember nights of lying in bed in so much pain I didn't know what to do with myself. Not nice. No harm in eliminating it.
My parents were here for 5 days and got home last night. My mom messaged me this morning that she lost 4 pounds here even though we kind of ate horribly the whole time.

Keeping a 4.5 month old boy, who wants to do more but can't, entertained or just from getting frustrated is a full time job! If he's on his back he rolls over then gets mad. He's too reclined in the bouncer so spends the whole time trying to sit up. He likes the jumperoo, but can't cope with too long. And I can't keep him on my knee all day. I remember this stage with DD too and she got so fed up all the time until she could crawl.
None that's awesome that you are having success with WW! I am on day two and am starving! Just trying to figure out the new program right now and it's a little rough. I'm going to focus the next two weeks on just being concious of my eating and now getting fast food while I am still figuring everything out.

So I've realized that LO wasn't getting very much milk and the past two days I've been really upping my water intake and eating granola. Last night she only woke up twice and I only had to feed her once! Such a change seeing as I've been feeding her 3 times and she's been waking every 2-3 hours the past week. She's also ridiculously content this morning, she did tummy time for like 40 minutes.

Why is it hot again? I was enjoying the cooler temps? waaaahhhhhhh
It doesn't help that I've been canning for two weeks straight so my kitchen is like a steamy sauna. In the last 24 hours I've canned two batches of pears, one of tomato jam and also rendered a whole hog's worth of lard. I have another bushel of apples coming today and still have to finish off the last half bushel of pears in my fridge. I'm so sick of canning, but just need to push through apple season, then grapes in October, and I can throw in the towel for this year. So looking forward to cooler weather when I have nothing to do but sit by the fire and do school with the kids.
But at least the baby is a good napper and is letting me get stuff done. I've been throwing him on my back in the Ergo when he isn't content and that also works!
creepyeyeball, you sound like my mom. Just the other day she was going crazy, up to her eyeballs in black eyed peas. And her plants are still producing. Tomatoes too, she's still getting a ton.
Hornworms unfortunately decimated my tomatoes. I had 31 plants and only a handful are still producing. I think my tomato jam was the last of it.
Currently trapped in nap jail and loving it! Feel like I've hardly been on here recently. You know. Work. Baby. Endless laundry. After am Dr's appointment ( wasn't prepared for that pelvic exam..oops) and time at the DMV I get to spend the rest of the day getting baby snuggles...can't wait! Feel like I'm always working these days....maternity leave got be slightly behind financially and it's time to catch up.
