Whine: That means I'll need to cancel my trip to Portland in two weeks bc we'll be doing the SHG then. Hopefully a letter from my doctor saying I have to be in town will get JetBlue to refund my money.

Whine: Why am I so unproductive when I have so much to do? Tonight is back to school night, soccer practice, and a school fund raiser at a local restaurant all in the same 90m. L is out tonight for work. I have crazy PMS. I am eating anything that isn't locked down.
Wine: I leave for NYC in 9 days. I am so excited. New fall shows are starting on tv.

rosesquared and 2brides, what are your favorite shows? We're in a show hole.
Whine- I'm not the bravest person and can easily convince myself that someone is hiding somewhere. Anyways, M and I just got back from a walk and I couldn't unlock our front door. Which was odd. I tried the second lock, which we never use, and then was able to unlock it. So, being all creeped out and thinking someone locked it from the inside while we were gone, I asked our neighbor's daughter (she's my age) if she would come over and walk through the house with me to make sure no one was hiding.
Wine- Watching M scoot backwards all around her room this morning. She backed herself into a corner and kicked the closet door with her foot.

cetcar we do most of the crime/medical shows. So Criminal Minds, Law and Order SVU, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Chicago Med, NCIS Regular, LA, and New Orleans, Younger (cause my fav Broadway star is on it), Blindspot, Code Black, and Greys Anatomy. Haha reading that list it we look like we have no life. We dvr everything and watch it when we can. It's my one "vice" or way of relaxing. Oh and this summer we watched almost all 7 seasons of Mad Men.

rosesquared, As crazy as it may sound, those shows are too scary for me. My imagination goes crazy concocting all kinds of health and intruder/criminal scenarios. See previous post....haha! But CET is much braver. She recently started watching Homeland and it's sucked her in.

cetcar yeah I hear you! I know a bunch of people who can't watch Criminal Minds because it got too crazy. I'm currently sitting on the couch watching American Ninja Warrior lol. It's the one show I'm hooked on that R doesn't really like.

Yes, ANW is one of our favorites too! I'm super excited for Designated Survivor, Pitch, and This is Us which are all new this fall. Some of my returning fall favorites are The Amazing Race, The 100, The Catch, Superstore, and Blindspot.

Wine - I got a $2100 a year raise, increasing my overall salary today. It wasn't a scheduled raise, it was just a discretionary one! I am pretty stoked.
Whine: Warning this is super bratty! So my youngest sister offered to throw my baby shower, she's in college, but my aunt and other sister were going to help obviously. Tonight I finally sent them the final date Jan 15, and my youngest sister who OFFERED to throw the shower said "That's right after the New Years cruise, I'll probably be broke to be honest" So I said well we can do Dec 15, and she said well that is "right around finals so I won't have much time to focus on it" .......
Worst part is that no one else has offered to do it.
So can I just throw my own shower? Because you ONLY get one, and I don't want some shitty half assed one, the parties I threw for other people are fucking nice and then I always get the shit left over. I'm super frustrated. There is still plenty of time but being due in Feb makes it hard to find a good month.
Edit to add - I know how bratty this sounds, and how much of a baby I am.
Edit 2: after talking it over with my sister more we've decided to split it 50/50 which will be more 60/40. She will stay the host but I will help purchase things, I am okay with this because I just want it to be nice and not look cheap. Besides no one will know who paid for what.
Almost forgot, I'm so stoked for Gilmore Girls on Netflix!
@rikkieandjulie my wife and dad's birthday is Dec 11, sister is Dec 20, and I'm Jan 29th. Trying to plan anything to celebrate at that time of year sucks. I'm glad you're working it out money-wise. You're right no one needs to know who pays for what, they'll just be excited to celebrate with you.

rikkiandjulie I totally hear you! I would feel the same way!
JustJudy yup that's our family too! Dec 15 is DW's bday, mine is Dec. 27, my dad is Dec. 28 with lots of random holiday events mixed in. Such a hard time of year financially and scheduling-wise! (But fun!!!)

rikkiandjulie, I'm glad to hear you figured out a plan that you feel comfortable and excited about! Looking forward to hearing more about it.
Same here with it being a busy time of year. There's Christmas, my birthday on 1/21 (and now M's birthday too), my college roommate's birthday on 1/25, a different friend's birthday on 1/26, Valentine's Day, our dating anniversary 2/21, and my sister's birthday 2/22. It feels like we're constantly buying presents.
