I have this sweatshirt that's perfect for nursing. Open in the front, no zipper, super soft, grey so it matches everything. All of that said... I've been wearing it nonstop since LO was born. DH legit peels it off of me to wash it. Today I've got a funk. We'll call it "new mom musk" aka dried spit up. I guess it's time for a wash.

Oh also. Woke up to a text from DH "I can't remember if there are diapers in C's daycare bag". That was after he dropped her off. Freaking humiliating. I cried. Then had to get my ass up and drop diapers off at daycare. Luckily our daycare provider is a sweetheart and didn't make me feel like the worst mom.

I feel you annapunkalunka. The other day I ran out to the pharmacy with spit up in my hair.
Today my OB is checking out my episiotomy to make sure it's not infected and then I get to go to the BMV to renew my license. All this while toting along R. It's going to be awesome ha!

I'm food-obsessed today. I just had pastry at work and there is also chocolate cake for after lunch. I have a pork loin with apples & cranberries in the crock pot for dinner tonight, it tastes like Thanksgiving and I'm super excited about it.
DS is in a decent mood today. He asked for the potty, but peed in his diaper, while sitting on the potty. So that's something. It's going to rain here so we're stuck inside. I'm super sore and lifting him out of the crib this morning was rough. Time to finish his big boy room. Other than that, midwife appt this afternoon. I may see if she'll do a cervical check as I've been cramping for days. Prodromal labour sucks.
Updates: My milk is in but I still think I'm underproducing. I keep waffling about what I want to do. For now, nursing is working with the occasional formula supplement for MOTN but I just have so many mixed emotions about all of this
Jaundice score wasn't bad so we'll have our newborn pics tomorrow!
Y'all- make freezer meals. It's been great to come home from the hospital and not need to worry about dinner whatsoever!
I'm surprised how much easier the pp recovery has been with #2. I am less sore, have more energy- I'm basically a functioning person. It took me 3w to feel like this with DS!
Big hugs to those that need it today and FX to all those still waiting that your time is coming soon!
Also I've had two successful pain-free postpartum poops. Is it weird to be excited about that?
Not weird at all. I've been taking stool softener (get this ladies if you haven't) and it's been painless and stress free and awesome!
If you were to tell me 5 years ago how excited I'd get about pooping (myself or my kids), I'd have laughed in your face
+1. Definitely have some on hand. My hospital gave me one shortly after labor and then kept me on them twice a day. Had my first post labor poop late yesterday afternoon and even though I was dreading it, it actually wasn't that bad.
K and I had a rough night, unfortunately. H and I had decided not to swaddle her because of all the new laws here that basically banned swaddling at daycare. But around 5am we finally gave in. She just would not sleep unless someone was holding her or she was wrapped up in a blanket.
The hospital had her in a Halo sleep sack pretty much the entire time she was there, so H is going to venture out today to get us at least one, preferably two or three.
I wonder now if I can convince him to get us a small travel bassinet as well. We dragged the pack n play into our room around 5am so that we could sleep.
I think I've had maybe 3 hours of sleep in the last 24. Now that we're swaddling her, I can hopefully get some more.
I was up from 1 to 4 with cramps last night. Nothing happened... Just had a 2 hour nap. TMI, there was some blood in my MP or whatever that was this am, so hopefully things are gonna happen soon.
There's a gelato place in town that gives pregnant women a labour inducing gelato, so I'll try that this afternoon. Even if labour doesn't start I will have gelato, so no,loser here!

I gave E some prune juice this morning but so far nothing has happened. She is fighting naps big time today. Every time she seems to drift off, she starts grunting and kicking again. It seems like the only way she will sleep today is with my boob in her mouth!

Hope things get moving for you!
Also, I gotta know - what flavor is the gelato??
My MW said it was like a spicy chocolate. I'll report back!

My day started with a trip to the rent office followed by me sitting in the cars in tears. Im sure in a few days I'll feel normal again, I hope. But right now I've hit a wall at 100mph and im just so tired and I'm just done.

Hi ladies. Probably a post a run.
Hanging out in the hospital, about to jump in the shower finally. MH took a hat and blanket home to our dog this morning and he said he sniffed it like crazy then curled up with it while he was in the shower.
I'm feeling ok. Little guy has been lazy about latching but loves just licking up the colostrum I squeeze out. We'll probably be sent home sometime late tomorrow morning or early afternoon.

Labor inducing Gelato sounds amazing! We have a local cream cheese here that I tried last Friday and it didn't work. I hope the Gelato gives you better luck!!

Left R with the new babysitter this morning and took E & A to the new moms coffee meetup from 10-12. It was sooo nice to drink coffee without a toddler climbing on me and so nice to spend some time with just the babies. Plus, I met lots of other moms in our area so hopefully some turn into new friends.

I remember smelling like the earth. Very musky. I also had a sweater that I wore all.the.time, but at least I had 2. It is one of those suuuuper soft fuzzy fabric sweaters that have these sort of wings in the front that I would wrap my baby in. I washed them so much that they nearly felted.
Just left my mw appt. still at 3cm and 70-80% effaced. She swept me again (better this time I think) and sent us with homework...sex, then castor oil and oj around 2am...DNW either but I'll do it.
