I'm so tired and frustrated today. All I could think of this morning is that I have another 10 months of this at least. I don't know why last night set me off so much, I just want one night of not being touched!

I'm sorry! I totally get it. I think to myself every night.. I can't wait to sleep train. That might make me sound like a bad Mom but I seriously can't wait!

I have a countdown on my phone to the timing when we sleep trained DS... I don't judge you for that at all. We struggled with DS's sleep since it seemed like he needed to cry a little before he could sleep - it was just the way he unwound or something. That couldn't work for a newborn or young baby though since it made me feel terrible so we probably interfered with his sleep more than anything early on. He reacted so well to the sleep training and it didn't result in night weaning (which was the plan since I was ok with 1-2 feedings each night still). E seems to have a similar temperament to DS so there probably isn't much I can do in the way of helping her learn to sleep until then since I won't let a 6 week old cry.
Well A fell asleep at 10 after nursing on both sides so we didn't give her the formula topper we normally do. She woke at 1130 instead of her normal 3+ hr stretch. DH gave her a 2oz bottle and now I'm Nursing. DH went to the guest room after she was done her bottle. I could seriously cry ugly tears right now.
The first half of the night hasn't been so bad. I really want the rest to be good too. H has a 10 HR work day tomorrow so I better think of something to go out and do to kill some time.

I'm sorry, kerbear. Hopefully the rest of the night goes better.
I seriously can't wait for the dairy to be out of our system. His poops are horrid right now... and the timing has been no good, too. He just had a massive poop 2 mins after I changed him... I'm ok with that during the day, but it really sucks at night. And he woke an hour sooner than his usual... probably because he had to poop. I'm hoping this next stretch is better for everyone!
LO went 5.5 hours for his first stretch (usually we get 3-4 hours)! I'm feeding him now and hoping he doesn't decide it's cranky time like he did from 3-5 am last night. I hope everyone gets nice long stretches of sleep at some point tonight!
Been up since 2, currently 3:30. Nursed both sides and was wide awake. I tried to give him a bottle of formula a few minutes ago when he fussed again but he only took .5oz and freaked. Currently nursing again. If I hadn't been so engorged I should have given him the formula first then let him finish at the breast since he doesn't seem to care for the taste of the formula if he's not super hungry. I think weaning will be a slow process here.
Ive been up with dd since 130 Nursed both sides multiple times, supplemented at the breast several times and just gave her her first bottle. I can't be up every night for hours on end trying to breastfeed since I still have to parent DS during the day. I'm sad breastfeeding didnt work for us.
Lo went down at 10:15 and seriously just woke up at 4:30. Holy fuck. I can't even explain the joy when I looked what time it was on my phone. Also, my boobs hurt SO bad. Worth it though to get that long of a stretch!!
Is there a point when I should wake E up to eat if she hasn't woken up in the night herself? She is 6.5 weeks. I've never had this question before since DS never slept through until he was 9 months or so. I don't expect it to happen again for a while but of course it makes me nervous that now she didn't wake up at her normal times overnight (I just checked on her and she stirred but went right back to sleep...).
ETA: Ugh, I realize this post seems insensitive or humblebraggy with all the other sleep issues but this is a one off after some really crappy nights!!

If she's gaining weight well I'd let her sleep. I believe the rule is once they are back above birth weight and still gaining well you can let them sleep. My post was braggy too. I didn't realize it till after I posted it!

E fell asleep at 730 so I put him in the RNP in the living room. It's now almost 1030 and he's not even stirring a little bit but I'm SO tired. I just want to go to bed but I don't want to wake him...

I'd just sleep on the couch until he wakes up on his own.

As soon as he started slightly stirring I moved him. Changed him, brought him upstairs, swaddled him, nursed him... then he had a masssive poop. So I changed him again. We're snuggling now. I'm an hour later getting to bed than I'd like, but hopefully he sleeps well with a full belly and an empty colon 😬

Fed P at 7:30pm then took about about an hour to go down. BUT she's still asleep after midnight! She's 9 weeks as of midnight and this is the longest she's gone plus in the crib too. JOY!

I need to ask a question. Ever since having dd2, I've been experiencing pain at night. It's localized to behind my pubic bone/urethra and it tends to wake me up before she does at night. It seems to resolve itself when I get up but dd2 is a good sleeper so I'm waking up more from the pain than I am from her. Has anyone else noticed something like this? I'm almost 5 weeks pp now and I was hoping it would go away on its own.
We got another 5 hr stretch tonight. Guise sleep can happen!! I really hope this is her new thing and isn't just a fluke! I honestly deserve a good sleeper. DS was an up every 40 minutes until 6 months baby!
I hope you all get some good sleep tonight! There hasn't been a lot of posts so I'm hopeful for you all!
I don't have any advice hurricanerek, but I hope you get it resolved soon!
I hope everyone is getting some nice long stretches of sleep tonight. As usual, LO did great the first part of the night but has now been up for over an hour & seems to have gas/tummy issues. This seriously only seems to happen around 3 am. Ugh.
I can't remember when the grunting died down with DS1. It is so crazy loud. Like I could hear him from the kitchen, which is on the other side of the house.

From some Googling, it looks like gas issues may peak around 3-4 weeks as they become more aware of the sensations in their digestive tracks (LO is only 2.5 weeks but was 10 days late, so maybe that's what's going on). He gets up around 3 am to eat for the second time but then refuses to go back to sleep, crying & straining despite my attempts to burp, massage, pat, do bicycle legs, etc. He eventually works it out & sleeps for another couple hours, but it's really frustrating to be up from 3-5 trying to settle him. Has anyone had success with gas drops and/or gripe water? If so, how often do you give it & at what time? LO seems fine the rest of the day/night.
