I had been having contractions all week. My parents came over just incase anything happened over the weekend because they were watching DS and live about 2 hrs away. Saturday I had on and off contractions but nothing consistent until just after I put DS to bed. We decided to go for a nice long walk and that's when things really picked up. Contractions every 2-3 minutes and they were starting to get painful. I waited until 9pm to call because I didn't want to just be sent home again like the weekend before. We get to the hospital around 10 and I was 2-3cms dilated. They gave me 4 hrs to have some cervical change. Around midnight I had a bloody show and they checked me again. I was 4cm. I continued to labor and got the Epi around 4:30am. Tried to sleep but the Epi only took to one side of my body. By 8am I was in a ton of pain and still felt everything on my left side. At 8am they adjusted my Epi and broke my waters. 9:30 I had intense pressure/contractions and I was 9 1/2 cms. Doctor told me I was close but still had some time. Not even two minutes later I had DH running to get the nurses because I had to push. The doctor came in and could see her hair. 3 pushes later Alaina was here!! I had a 3rd degree tear that required many stitches. I'm still in a ton of pain. Sitting, walking, basically doing anything is awful. Each day I wake up hoping to feel a little better! Thank god for dermaplast!
