Milestones: sitting unassisted for short periods of time, turning in circles on her belly (no signs of crawling, thank goodness), can sometimes put herself to sleep
Concerns: eating - she is not into solids yet. We've been trying for about 3 weeks now and she can't get the hang of it.
How'd LO do with the shots? Pretty good. She had a fever for a day and was a little crabby, but it's been better with each course of vaccines. We did the flu shot, too, and will have to get the second dose in a month.
Milestones: He is rolling both ways and started solids. He can sit up for short times alone and still loves playing with his feet.
Concerns: The pedi told me they are going to monitor his kidney and his cyst. I had no idea what cyst she was talking about so she read me the nephrologist notes and it sounds worse than we thought. I think the nephrologist just doesn't want us to worry so he's not telling us everything but now I'm panicked because they aren't planning to follow up for another 6 months. We got referred to a new nephrologist but it is all out of network and is going to cost us our savings to have him seen. I'm angry, sad, and confused to say the least.
How'd LO do with the shots? He screamed then fell asleep. Hopefully he is OK later today.
scotty138, wow, sorry for all the emotions from that appointment. Is the old nephrologist not able to keep you as a patient? Medical costs are just insane, such an added pressure to an already stressful time.

I just don't trust him anymore because he isn't telling us everything. At 1 month he said the kidney was measured small, but could be a mismeasurement. In actuality it measured at 1/3 the size it should and that was confirmed at 5 months. I'm just now finding out he has a cyst in the kidney and mild reflux to the other kidney. He wants to wait until M is a year old to reassess but I want a second opinion to make sure we aren't wasting time and causing more damage. I can't tell if he just doesn't want us to worry or if he has given up on saving the kidney.

Okay, definitely sounds like it's time for a second opinion! Sorry the new one isn't in network though.

I would also be very frustrated by this doctor. Why the hell wouldn't he tell you everything?? Definitely worth a second opinion, but it sucks that it's out of pocket.
My poor peanut has a little fever today He did so well yesterday, barely even cried though he got stuck three times. But we woke up this morning and his temp is 100.4, just high enough to stay home from daycare.
Totally normal. Still no fun. I'm surprised you have to keep him out of daycare when it's most likely a reaction to the shots. Extra snuggles for you today!

Birth: 8 lbs 6 oz/ 22 in
2 month: 14 lbs/25 in
4 month: 16 lbs 4oz/27 in
6 month: not until November 13th
Milestones: Can roll both ways and spin on back/belly. Sleeps all night. Loves baby food especially apple sauce. Not sitting up just yet, but working on that.
Concerns: None really. Acid reflux seems to be clearing up and he is the happiest baby
How'd LO do with the shots? he usually tolerates the shots pretty well. We will see how it goes in November.
Weight: birth/4mo/6mo 8lbs/ 14lbs 4 oz / 16 pounds 6 oz
Height: birth/4mo/6mo 20.5" / 25" / 26"
Milestones: Doing well with food, she sits really well, she scoots in circles and can go backwards (but not forward)
Concerns: Not really, she still "skydives" a lot when on her tummy but she spends basically as much time on her tummy as possible working on her strength.
How'd LO do with the shots? Really well this time! Cried for like 2 minutes and then nothing afterwards.
Weight: 7lb 3oz/10lbs 3oz/13lbs 4.5 oz/14lbs 12.5 oz
Height: 20.5 in/23.5in/25.75in/27.5in
Still long and thin like Dad
Milestones: M is army crawling like crazy...all over the place. Pediatrician says definitely no concerns with gross motor skills. Lol. Working super had to sit for longer periods of time unassisted but is to active and gets bored. Loving the purees right now..time to experiment with more.
Concerns: none really. Sleeping and eating are good. Naps could be a little easier but I just let her cry for a few and then she's out. I just can't believe 6 months has passed already!
How'd LO do with the shots? She screamed at the time but then was fine. Missed her morning nap because of the appointment do between that and the shots she was pretty tough to get down....still sleeping! Hopefully the rest of the evening will go well but either way I'm going to a girls night paint and sip so dad's on duty!
I'm starting to feel like maybe my kid is a giant. 99% for height, but 56% for weight.
Milestones: Can sit by himself for a few seconds at a time, but hates it. Prefers to be helped to "stand". Can roll both ways and has been able to for a while. We start solid food today! Concerns: I gave him his very first cold this week. It has been emotionally tough on momma.
How'd LO do with the shots? He seems sleepier today than normal, and clingier, but I can't tell if that's the cold or the shots.
