Happy Friday, ladies! What's on the agenda this weekend?
I'm headed to the OB for my 12 week appointment and to get blood drawn for materniti21. It feels like ages since my last appointment! This weekend, I'm gonna REST. Or try to with a toddler.

This weekend my best friend is going to come over to help us take some announcement photos so we can go public. Then since we don't have anything else going on we might head over to BRU to start our registry.

I'm also wearing a maternity shirt today. My regular clothes just make me look horribly fat so I'm switching to maternity. Don't curr if anyone notices my bump anymore as long as it looks more baby bump than food bump.

Oy. The nurse couldn't find the baby's heartbeat with the Doppler. The doctor came in and did an ultrasound, and all is fine. So scary, but they were both so wonderful about not panicking and being so kind when I started crying when I saw my beautiful wiggly alien on the screen. In case this happens to anyone else, apparently 12 weeks is still early to easily get a heartbeat on the Doppler. So don't panic!
They also fucked up my paperwork so no blood draw. I'll do it next week when I get the NT scan. REALLY didn't want to do it this late in the game, but c'est la vie. I'm just happy baby is ok.

My midwife had a hard time finding mine at 10.5 weeks as well. It's definitely panic inducing. Glad they gave you an ultrasound and that everything is fine!
I gave 8 vials of blood and a cup of pee this morning :-(

My anxiety was spiking like crazy before my appointment today. I was sooooo relieved to hear LO's heartbeat on Doppler, but I still feel very emotional. Ugh.
My OB referred me to an MFM for all of my future scans b/ between thyroid disease and taking a low dose of prozac, I'm higher risk. On the plus side, they can do the anatomy scan a few weeks early, so yay!!!

Hi all. I'm doing the ponytail holder in the buttonhole trick to keep my pants up today. I feel like the twin moms who have talked about maternity clothes get a pass but it's too early for me with my singleton to be having this much trouble with pants. It's probably more the sweets than the baby. Womp womp.

DH just now told me that he's going to a board game day with friends tomorrow. I'm super bummed because I hoped this could be a family weekend- the first one since August where we have no plans- but it wouldn't be fair for me to tell him not to go since I was out for girl's day most of the day last Saturday and overnight. Bummed.
I'm still craving oreos. Do I want to make pumpkin oreo cheesecake bars or peanut butter oreo icebox cake this weekend? This is a very tough decision.

Around 5-8w is typically when FTMs start having an issue with buttoning pants. Happens sooner with each subsequent pregnancy too
Happy Friday, ladies! Can I just sort of sneak in here? I just added myself to the google doc. Previous loss mama who couldn't bring herself to intro on a BMB until now. I never introed on my BMB at any point for DD (April 16) so this is big progress
heisenberg, I had a similar doppler experience around the same time, glad they were able to sneak you in for an US!!!

I'm firmly in belly band status now. But I also gained ten pounds from my IVF meds so my pants were already a problem. Im wondering if I can make it most of the pregnancy with belly bands and keep wearing my same jeans. I don't mind buying shirts but I hate buying pants.

Confession: I'm already wearing my maternity jeans.

I made it to 24-26 weeks without having to wear maternity pants so it's technically possible. I could have gone longer but a certain baby started kicking anything that put pressure on my stomach. (He had a war going on with the seat belt and my favorite thing to do was lay on the couch with my phone on my belly for him to kick)

Absolutely hop on in! And sorry you had a similar scare.
Going to be pulling out my maternity clothes for washing and inventory this weekend also.
There's a FTM due a month ahead of me here who doesn't appear to need any maternity clothes yet, so I feel rather foolish.
This pregnancy EDD is almost exactly the same as my pregnancy with my DD, so it's really easy to compare my bump size by date...I am about the same size now as I was with that pregnancy in DECEMBER, no exaggeration.

Hope it went ok for you! They had to use heat packs on me to get a vein and I almost passed out despite lying down, but it's done now! Unfortunately when I checked the lab results online my urinalysis came back positive for leukocyte esterase. Hoping I just contaminated the sample and nothing grows on the culture because dnw antibiotics.
Hey ladies! I don't want to jinx it but I've been feeling much better the last few days I really hope I'm coming out of the fog.
My husbands family left Wednesday and I was mostly in bed for their whole visit, so I'm really happy to be feeling a bit more like myself!
I'm glad to see everyone's had good appointments! Next US for me will be the NT on Oct 11, which I'm looking forward to.
I'm also hoping to avoid maternity clothes for the next few months. I'm tall so DD grew up instead of out for a while and I didn't have to switch to mat pants until 26 weeks (just used a belly band) so I would love a repeat of that. I have two pairs of maternity jeans and I DNW to buy anything else!

I also had a zillion vials of blood drawn today. I've be feeling extra tired the last few days (3 hour afternoon nap tired), so I'm very glad that they will be checking for anemia.
I pulled out my box of maternity clothes this afternoon. I had forgotten how damn comfy maternity jeans are. If in doubt, buy a pair. They are heaven.
