So back like a little over a week ago I think, some of you will remember DD1 dropped DD2 on her face from a standing position. To recap, her 2 bottom chompers went up and cut the top gum line. It was really bruised and swollen for a couple days. One of the upper teeth was already out and one was starting to come out but hadn't broken the gum line yet. It was our worst teething experience yet because the tooth was coming through the damaged gum line.
The other teeth she has have taken like 3 days or so to come all the way through the gum line but the last one that was at the injured spot has stalled. It's been over a week (maybe even 2) and is still only half way through. Is this normal? She stopped crying really fast when it happened, she's happy other than what I attribute to her normal neediness and teething but I mentioned it to my dad today and he asked if I thought it was broken. We'll, I didn't, but now I'm nervous. He said I should take her to yhe dentist. Is this an abnormal timeline for a tooth to come down? Should I be worried? The tooth is a normal color, so I'm not concerned it's dying or something. Did my dad just make me paranoid for no reason?

Not to worry you or freak you out more, but I would probably have her checked. It's a little different but I had a friend whose daughter had her bottom two teeth, fell, and over some time lost both of the teeth.
On that same note though, I feel like DD2's teeth took forever to fully come in.
So the tooth that hadn't broken through yet is the one you're concerned about? Maybe it wasn't ready at all but the injury sped the process up. FWIW, both babies have had at least 2 teeth that took weeks to fully come through. I would start with a call to the pediatrician first. Nothing about this sounds really abnormal to me, aside from the face plant (which, incidentally, my clumsy babies do on the daily. So if it's that easy to screw up their teeth, they are effed)
My DD would have a tooth come in and then stall. It took her molars 2 months to fully erupt.
This is where I am. Z had one bottom tooth that literally took months to come in. I could see it under the gums but couldn't feel it. It took so long to cut through compared to his others.

schmella, right, it wasn't down. It was just a bump on the gum line at the time, then decided to come through in the days after because the gum line was still bruised when it broke through. I think I'm worried because I'm comparing it to the other teeth that hit the ground running as soon as they decided to break the gum line. And of course because my dad brought it up like "well, why didn't you take her right away?"

F's top two took forever compared to his bottom two. If you're worried, give your ped a call, but id say it probably broke through before it was ready and now will just be on its own schedule coming down.
