We are moving out of GA December 15th. We'll be homeless for the holidays... likely will head up to PA to spend it with my parents before we leave for HI. We fly there in January for the next 3 years. Panic is setting in as I'm going to have to try to sell a lot of stuff before we go. Time to majorly downsize. My mom being here this weekend made the anxiety skyrocket. I honestly don't know how it's all going to get done.
I think I'll just try to take 1 room each week and go through everything. My parents already took a bunch of things with them that I don't want to take there.

Afternoon, ladies! My 7 month old puked on me twice this past weekend. Somehow I was always holding him when he decided to projectile vomit all over me. He seems fine now, but this is a crazy week culminating with a business trip at the end of it. Ain't nobody got time for sick kiddos.

It sounds stressful!!! But it will probably feel really good once you've purged everything and at least you won't be stressed about packing over the holidays!
We started swim classes a few weeks ago. Yesterday we went and class lasted 5 minutes because an older kid pooped in the pool.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! A+ gif usage.
That is SO gross. Blergh!!!!
H and I were just talking this weekend about how somehow being only one degree removed from your child's excretions makes them only mildly gross and sometimes in a funny way. Like, I laugh when there's been a crazy diaper explosion or the time his drool soaked through the entire body of his WubbaNub.
But other kids' bodily functions are just gross. And GTFO to accidently swimming with it.

Question for you guys... I know I kind of have a high maintenance kiddo, but just wondering what your average days look like at home? I've gotten to the point with E where he can entertain himself for about 20 mins before he starts to get fussy and want to do something else, or want to walk around with me in the carrier. It's still exhausting... should he be able to entertain himself for longer periods by now? When does this start to get easier?

Sounds about right to me.
Thanks. My mom watches DS on Mondays and she talks about how exhausting it is. Its stressing me out... I'd almost rather just pay the extra money and put him in Daycare 5 days.. haha.

This leap they are in is TERRIBLE. AWFUL. They are so clingy and freak the eff out when they can't see or touch you.
I forget how long this leap lasts but it is slightly improving with DD (7 months next week), she can entertain herself in bursts but freaks out when she crawls into a corner or under a table and gets stuck.
This may be unpopular/flammable, but I cannot sing the praises enough of the Signing Time DVDs. We started them around this time with DD1 and by 8-9 months she would actually watch them, like pay attention, and she was able to start using signs. It was a great sanity saver for me when I needed to do something like cook dinner and I didn't feel too guilty about the screen time because she was learning SO MUCH! I know it's not for everyone though.

Good to know!! We just got all of E's medical issues under control, so I feel like I don't even know what is normal clingyiness and what is reflux related... I wonder if he's a High Needs kid or if its just normal leap behavior! He'll be 6 months on Friday so I feel like we still have the worst of it to go, but its nice to know I'm not alone!!
ETA, those DVDs sound great! I've tried baby einstein with Ethan and he doesn't seem intersted. haha

It's totally normal. DD didn't really entertain herself until she was around 18 months. They have short attention spans!!!

Swim lessons did not happen. We got there early and I kept waiting until well after the class was supposed to start. Apparently they changed the time and days the class is offered without notifying me. I'm pissed off about the lack of communication and am going to demand a refund because the times don't work for afternoon naps.

We took our very first family vacation this weekend. We went to Santa's Village in NH and stayed on town 2 nights. On our way down we stopped at Museum & Planetarium. It was so much fun to get away for the weekend.

On Route 2, right? We pass that every winter around the holidays when we head up to see family in Maine. Not sure your location or how far you are willing to go for family vacation, but just going to also recommend The W!ld Center in upstate NY. We went there for the first time this summer. They somehow manage to make local ecology way more fun than any science field trip I ever had and have some very playful otters and a seriously awesome arboreal walk. Super fun!

Not sure if you mind screen time? I put on a you tube channel called little baby bum. It's just songs and nursery rhymes and we sing a long.

roseinbloom- Yes, near Mount Washington. I live in Vermont and Upstate NY would be about a 4 hour drive but I will be looking into this. This sounds so cool! We were also thinking about checking out the New England Aquarium in Boston. It's another 4 hour drive.
