cavewmn wtf to not wiping DS??? That is the exact reason I always tell the boys caregivers about it. I start it off with "so now the awkward part- we're going to talk about my sons penis." And I let them know just wipe him, do NOT retract the foreskin (for some reason people still really think this). Anyone who will change his diaper gets the speech. At first H was embarrassed, IDGAF. People need to know and not "be scared" of it.
They were told this. But only when DH found no wipes where they change him did we find out. :/ Then they acted surprised that they are suppose to wrote even if it's only pee.
Grabbed Sam to nurse him and my MIL goes "he has to eat again already?!" It's been 2.5 hours so yep, that's how it works with babies. They eat every couple hours.
Wait... I don't wipe just for pee. They told me at the hospital it wasn't necessary.
I'm meh about it. Urine is sterile but it can be irritating to the skin. I don't wipe every time unless they are irritated or have been very wet.
I feel like it's also different for girls because the pee doesn't really have the same direct...trajectory? Lol. So it's more likely to leak onto skin than right into the diaper like with boys.

My first was a boy so I knew about pee shooting out, but I never expected it from my baby girl. It's insane how far this little girl makes her pee go! Who knew!

This is me. About half? I have cloth for day, cloth wipes that I just spray with water, disposables for night, and disposable wipes. I'll wipe depending on what's within reaching distance and how soaked his butt is.

I'm totally winning at mom-ing today. While DS1 was at preschool, I went for a long walk, cleaned, and did laundry. Then I survived the grocery store with both kids with no major issues. Both boys napped. Baby napped in his crib, and it was my first attempt at a crib nap so pretty stoked it went well. I had about a 5% success rate with crib naps with my older one for the first 15 months of his life so maybe I'm getting rewarded for all of my past suffering. Oh and currently there are chocolate chip cookies cooling on the counter that DS1 and I made together.
Today will never happen again so I'm enjoying it!
And I don't wipe pee diapers unless I can see liquid on him.

Speaking of wipes, if you do the subscribe and save for Amazon...their wipes are awesome! They are bigger, don't ever tear, stay moist and come with a dispenser (it's cheap, but works great). They are seriously the best wipes I've ever used.

Which brand? I do subscribe and save for pampers sensitive wipes.

I wipe pee if it's a soaked diaper, or if he happens to pee everywhere as I'm changing him. I use a ton of baby powder on him, which I know people say is a no-no (inhalation risk), but DS1 had such awful rashes until we started using it every change with him, so I do this with L out of habit/prevention.
I love Kirkland brand (Costco) wipes! And my boys poop in Kirkland diapers. And L eats Kirkland formula. I suggested Kirkland jeans to DH but he politely declined.

Another Wipes rave if you're a Costco member is the Kirkland brand. They're awesome, hypoallergenic, and alcohol and paraben free. Plus they come 900 in a box!
