Hi Ladies!
I talked to murrt after her MFM appointment and she's headed in to start the induction process right now! Baby Irish's fluid is still low and the MFM said he'd rather just induce murrt now rather than stress everyone out unnecessarily. She's 36+6 today, I think.
She said she doesn't expect anything to happen for a few days and that she'll be on here to update in person once she gets checked in.
Send her all the good juju you've got!
6:50 p.m. Update #1: She just had a cervical check and it's completely closed. They're going to start giving her something every three hours to help soften the cervix and they will check her again tomorrow morning. She's gonna get some sleep, or at least try to!
The nurses are telling her that when the cervix is closed and firm like that, it'll be a long while. She sounds like she's doing well and she's relatively comfy and the baby is on a monitor so that's all good news!
4:37 p.m. 9/30 Update #2: She's finished her multiple rounds of misoprostol and she's still barely dilating. The nurse said that her LEEP may have left some scar tissue in there which is causing a little bit of an issue. She's starting pitocin now and they're going to see if they can manually dilate her a little bit to get things going. She's had contractions, but nothing uncomfortable. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything else!
11:10 a.m 10/1 Update #3: Still dealing with a very stubborn cervix. She's dilated 1cm now and per her hubs, they had to put in a coke balloon to try to move this along. It sounds like given her difficult cervix and the scarring, that procedure was torturous - they had to give her laughing gas. She's feeling a bit better now after the gas and some meds. They will wait 12 hours with the balloon in and then reassess the situation. I am so hoping this does the trick for her!
9:40 a.m. 10/2 Update #4: The balloon dilated her to 4cm so they're starting pitocin now and moving her to labor. Sounds like things are moving!
5:30 p.m. 10/2 Update #5: Her OB broke her water to speed this along. She's contracting now.
8:30 a.m. 10/3 Update #6: No progress after a night on pitocin. She's contracting but not dilating. They took her off the pitocin this a.m. to give her a chance to "reset" and then restarted it. They're going to check her at 5 today, and if she's still not dilating they'll deliver via c/s.
4:30 p.m. 10/3 Update #7: No progress. She's headed in to be prepped for c/s right now. The next update will be the big one!
