adelbert glad you had a smooth trip! Hope you have a good time on your trip. Are you by the Mall of America? Shows how much I know about that area...lol!
wineallthetime that is terrifying! Glad she's okay though and it's one of my biggest fears too. I am taking a CPR class in a few weeks and will be paying extra close attention to the infant parts.
I'm CPR certified through work, but my mom is looking into CPR classes for us to all take as a family which I think is a great idea!
With DS1 I measured out the water in the bottle then carried the Munchkin formula dispenser around. You can measure the formula into there and then all you have to do is dump it in. Super easy! I got them off Amazon.
+1 to the Munchkin formula dispenser. I carry that in the diaper bag with an empty bottle. I got the little 8 oz bottles water to throw in the bag as well. But I guess pre filling the bottles with water would save a step and some room in the bag.
Munchkin formula dispenser here too. I prefill the water before leaving the house. I also carry one of those premixed formula bottles I got as a sample just in case, but haven't needed it.
The mention if abortion at the debate last night was a trigger for me. I had to keep myself from sobbing. I can't imagine the pain of a woman who is faced with a birth defect that is incompatible with life. Every time they play that section on the news, I tear up.
I just read a truly horrible story about a woman who had to have a late term abortion at 32 weeks. The baby had severe issues and wouldn't be able to breathe outside the womb. What she had to go through to get the procedure was just heartbreaking, on top of an already heartbreaking situation. I can't imagine. I don't know why we would want to make it harder for families in those situations.
wineallthetime, glad your niece is fine. That is also one of my big fears. DD loves grapes, and gets so mad when I cut them, so when I just don't have the energy for a meltdown I let her eat whole grapes, and feel like the worst parent ever. I try to watch her like a hawk the whole time she is eating them.
I have spent tons of time on the phone, but I finally have an appointment booked to get a second opinion for M's kidney. They can only get us in Nov 1st at 9am and it's 5 hours away so we will miss trick or treating for H. It's a bummer because I spent about 10 hours so far on his costume and he's really excited, but the only other choice is waiting until January. We're going to stay at a waterpark for a couple nights so hopefully that makes up for it.
Hey guys!!! I've been MIA for a while, just super busy with life and I was having trouble keeping up. Ry turned 6 mo yesterday and I've been having all sorts of feels about it

Do you live in the kind of neighborhood where a few neighbors might let you come by the night before Halloween?
Otherwise I'm sure one year won't make a difference in the grand scheme of things
We actually only have 2 neighbors within a couple miles so we were planning to take him in town. I just found out our church is having a fundraiser next week and kids can wear their costumes so we'll probably do that. He doesn't really get it, he just wants to wear his costume.
Formula mamas - just got a great deal at jet.com. Got a six pack of formula (23 oz each), used code similac15 for 15% off, then code triple15 for another 15% off. Got them for about $15 a container (usually pay like $26 at target)!
shananagins I see you lurking too! Updates on MB please!
Hey lady!! MB is good! 21lbs and rocking 9 and 12 month clothes, depending on the brand! Rolling over, starting purees, and holding his own bottle Trying to lurk as much as I can--we've had some personal life drama going on that's kept me busy and then my work blocked TCF I usually TCF on my lunch break, and sometimes during my kiddos' rest time.
In fact, I was so annoyed with how many sites were suddenly blocked at work. I kept stomping around wondering why no one else was complaining about the sudden change. And then I was like "Wait. Why is no one complaining about the sudden change?" FFSC? I checked my wifi connection and realized I was using the student wifi, not the staff wifi. Embarrassing.
Miss everyone!! Hoping I can get on here more regularly (you know, now that I figured out that I was using the wrong wifi... )

@pennygirl2013, Thanks, lady! My DH got laid off a few weeks ago. It's a pretty straightforward breech of contract--they fired him for a policy that they claim they have--except it's not a policy, it never has been, and it isn't in the contract or SOP. But they won't budge on it. So now DH's union has to fight it in arbitration. Stressful It's got some more complex components to it, but I won't bore you! So we're just riding it out for a few months until it goes to arbitration. I hate these people. So much. I wish he could just find something else and move on. But DH and I refuse to let them just make up their own rules--there's a contract for a reason
gooselover2012, Sounds delicious!! (Also, my phone keeps arguing with me and keeps autocorrecting your name to "goose liver". No, Siri. No.)
Just got back from Ikea with a new mattress! I shouldn't be spending the money, but our current 15 year old mattress has springs poking through at this point. I just couldn't anymore. Excited to use it later this week!
Ha Ha on the goose liver... Very interesting that that is what it changes it too
I was at Ikea today too! We got there right when it opened at 10 and were out before 11. We actually didn't buy anything but got some good ideas for what we are thinking of buying.
We pre-shopped last week to figure out what we needed and then did the same today--ran in, grabbed our stuff, and ran out! I also grabbed wine and margarita glasses--I'm painting them for all of the grandparents for Christmas! IKEA is my absolute favorite. Cheap, sturdy, and efficient. Sign me up twice.

I could be way off but aren't you in the Midwest somewhere?
Nope! I'm Northeast! One of us is Midwest! Maybe a few of us? (I thought jags was. Maybe??)

I know there were a ton of Midwest people and Packer fans when we started. Yeah jags is from my home state. Gosh I miss her
I know there is not a ton of Ikeas so thought it would be creepy/funny if we were there at the same time
I miss her so much too Lol--that would have been super funny!! So what are you guys thinking of buying? We ended up getting a mattress, but also a Malm bed frame--it's got four glorious built in drawers for clothes storage. In love.
I'm jealous of those with an IKEA nearby. There are two within driving distance but they are both over two hours away. I'd love to have one closer! I'm an organizing freak and have heard awesome things about some of their stuff.
I'm spoiled--45 minutes away if there's no Philly sporting event going on! (And a little over an hour with tailgating traffic ) I love how organized I can be with their stuff! All of our furniture is IKEA, with the sole exception of our sofa and my dining room table/bar! They make drawer inserts that fit perfectly into their pieces--I've got different inserts for bibs, baby socks, burp clothes, jammies, blankets, etc. Ahem. Clearly I'm a total nerdy fan...
@pennygirl2013, Three cheers for not having to cook! Boo for having to wear actual pants...
Also I am a Midwest girl!! Closest IKEA is 2.5 hours away (might actually be the one minae01 is talking about...)
I guess I am the lucky one. Only a 20 minute drive to the one I go to. Would probably be an hour during rush hour but it is a quick little drive on a Sunday morning
