Goooood morning! Im wearing my "fake it till you make it" face today (who said that, malvo? I like it), P woke up at 3am. I brought him into my bed but had very little luck getting sleep so at 6am we gave up and got up for the day. I thought our trip to visit H went well (he was happy and confident, not clingy) but it seems like ever since we got back hes having trouble sleeping by himself. I guess seperation anxiety. Im also suspecting an ear infection from all his snot.
I'm cleaning today. Fun stuff. M is a little better, but still whiney. She slept part of the night in bed with me because I got tired of getting up and checking on her. I'm so tired.
She just got up from a nap and I'm working on her lunch. FX she will eat. She hasn't wanted anything that is slightly warm because of her sore throat. She's been living off fruit, snack foods, and milk.
SO is on his way home! They got off the ferry from Newfoundland and will drive until they reach Pa. He's supposed to be home tomorrow!

Not much going on today. Have to pack and ship from last night's sale and then place an order. Also need to get a new baby gate because N figured out how to open ours. 😑 Other than that, I'm hoping for a shower and a nap. Oh and is anyone else dealing with an 18m sleep regression? Naps have been near impossible or nonexistent and I had to go in and comfort him quite a few times last night. Are we at the age for nightmares yet?
portuguesemama i think nightmares are definitely a possibility at this age (and i think many of us are going through a sleep regression of some sort). Sleep, babies, sleeeeep.

ruemorgan - Thankfully he's still sleeping enough hours at night, albeit broken by screaming and needing comforted, but I can't do the no nap thing. Those two hours are my most productive of the day. Haha.
Im so boreddd today. I think im gonna go shoe shopping when P wakes up. Hoping to find a dressier shoe to wear with my skirts. Wish me luck, i have no (shoe) fashion sense.
malvo fx M doesn't get sick again!! She's been sick too much! Yay for your SO coming home!!!
ruemorgan good luck shoe shopping. I need to do that, but I don't have shoe style either. It's either flip flops or boots for me mostly.
portuguesemama I've been wondering about dreams and nightmares lately also. A makes a lot more noise in her sleep lately. She hasn't been napping as well recently either.
We woke up to rain this morning which was awesome. It's just cloudy now. I love days like this! I need to do more organizing and purging to make space for LLR stuff.
We're going to my mums house later so my H can cut a tree branch for her. In exchange she's making us chili for dinner. Mmm.
Just read an article about a crash this morning maybe 20 min from where we live. A truck ran a red light and hit another truck. The truck that got hit had a 2 year old in the back seat WITH NO CHILD SEAT and three kids in the bed of the truck. They didn't release all ages, but one was 6. SIX. In the bed of a truck.
I know the other driver shouldn't have been drunk and high (he admitted to it) and running red lights, but THIS IS WHY YOU PROPERLY RESTRAIN YOUR CHILDREN.
Stories like this make my blood boil. Sorry for the rant.
sjep922, that story makes me sad and angry. I used to drive a lot for work and would see kids without seat belts all the time. My favorite is the forward facing bucket seat. Do people just not know?
malvo yay for your so coming home early! With meat!! I've never had moose. What's it like? ruemorgan any luck shopping today? I really want some wedgy booties. portuguesemama we've been dealing with sleep regression for sure. Bad. Last night and tonight I kept f up later. She's been waking at 11 and 3:30. Last night she only work in the early am. Fx for tonight. She seems to be feeling better. Ate a little more today than she has been.
H and I got so much done today! Converted our sun room, which was a playroom, into an office and reading nook for the kids. We kept the small tv in there and the kitchen set because the kids use that room a lot in the winter since it's right off the living room.
Once f is down, I'm finding something good on tv and tackling laundry.
malvo - It was gross here today too but we went outside and ran around after dinner. N had a blast and shockingly kept his hoodie up the whole time to stay warm. Probably not good for a sick babe though
rvamama - FX for good sleep for you! And woohoo to getting things accomplished!
I applied for another position today. I couldn't find where they were located on Google maps so I just Googled them. They have space in one of the older buildings where I used to work. My old job out sourced positions to them.

So family nap time happened for 3 hours. Whoops. I pretty much wrestled N to stop being crazy while rocking, and he eventually passed out. Definitely don't want to encourage needing me to fall asleep, but kid needed a nap badly! Then when H and I woke up 3 hours later, N was still laying in his crib, playing with his animals, so he couldn't have been up long. FX for a good bedtime too! He's been screaming at us even trying to go upstairs until last night when I asked him if he wanted a bath instead of night night and he RAN up the stairs. So I think we're going to do bath every night instead of every other. I'm trying everything to have my easy bedtime babe back.
portuguesemama even if you don't wash him every night but let him play in the water. That might help as well. E has been bad about trying to go down. I think it is mostly her nose and she knows something is wrong/different.
Eta e slept for 3 hours today as well and I napped about 2.5 of them.
rvamama It's so good! There is very little fat. It's not gamey at all. He gets it butchered into a variety of ways. Minute steaks, regular steaks, hamburger, etc. Once you're used to eating something so natural, it's hard to buy meat from the grocery store.
+1 to the non-sleeping baby. Well, she sleeps, it's just been at the wrong times because of being sick. She napped late today and I can see her fiddling with her wubanubbs on the monitor. I may grab her and cuddle on the couch for 20 minutes, then put her back in. She's not crying for me, but I don't find it necessary to leave her in there if she's not going to sleep.
The medicine seems to be working, but it's strong and has made for terrible poops. I'm going to have to warn DC. If she poops, change her ASAP because it'll be on the verge of exiting her diaper!
rvamama yes! I couldnt decide between two pairs so i got both thinking ill return one when i decide...i felt guilty so i texted H which one should i return? But he said theyre versatile and to keep them both! Yay, versatile is exactly what i was going for so im so glad he said that!
malvo my h is a deer hunter, so I'm used to eating that a variety of ways. I just wondered if it was gamey/tough being such a big animal. I guess I was thinking big=muscle; which isn't always the most tender. ruemorgan love them both!! Top seems dressier with the slimmer heel and bow. Perfect for dates and the holidays. The bottom is kind of what I'm looking for- everyday booty. Love them both though and your h rocks for saying to keep both!!
portuguesemama a bath always helps my kids settle. It's usually around that time, though, that h is getting rawled up (is this a real phrase? I say it a lot!) I have to remind him that's it's bed time!
