Anyone have experience with a really bad diaper rash?? We've been combating one on E and it's recently become raw and awful looking. He's naked now and the most content he's been in days. I feel bad it took me this long to figure it out. Any pointers?? Thankfully his pedi appointment is tomorrow.
Yes, we went and saw the Peds. They recommended no wipes, just fresh water and cloth each change and pat dry with a different dry cloth. Load up on the desitin.

Is it bumpy? Could be yeast, if so lotrimin will work.
It's not bumpy. I [bravely] googled a yeast rash and it could be yeast. I'll ask tomorrow. Until then I'll use water per watermelonseed 's recommendation. Thanks ladies!

Penaten is like our miracle cream. DS gets really bad teething poops and some penates usually clears up even bad sores within 24 hrs.SaveSave
So I've tried out the K'Tan with R a couple times now and I kinda hate it. The loops seem to be different lengths which means I can only get it on in one direction. Thankfully I never took the tag off so it's definitely going back.
Trying to decide if I want to try a wrap, or if I should just go right to a SSC. I like the closeness of the K'Tan but the fit just didn't seem right so maybe I would like wrapping.
I tried mine at the store for the first time today and I didn't like it either! I LOVE my wraps for this age. I switch to SSC around 15lbs. Although I did grab some woven wraps so I may like those, just have to wash them first!

annapunkalunka keep doing as much diaper free time as you can! i found that to be the best for my daughter's diaper rash. we also used boudreaux's butt paste but diaper free time was key.
Hey friends! It's my first day alone with the toddler and the baby and we are surviving so far. My toddler has started crying every time the baby cries...like she is genuinely upset about the baby crying and she holds her ears and cries. It makes for interesting diaper changes bc she also insists on sitting right next to the baby while she gets changed. Not sure what to do with this one exactly.
LadyNymeria, I very much prefer using the ergo in general. I am using the ktan right now just because it's still so warm and the ergo + insert would cook E. I always felt like my son was much more secure in the ergo and it felt better on my back since it was supported on my hips.

Hopefully the ped gives you something good to help. With DS, ours gave us some powdered nystatin (I think?) to help with swamp butt (that was literally what she called it!).

All of this! You can also add in a baking soda bath. That will help soothe the redness.

The new ergo adapt doesn't require an infant insert. I'm too cheap to buy it when our insert works fine. I like the ktan too but the ergo is easy for me. I even managed to nurse in it just now at target even though he's only 12 days old. Last baby, I didn't figure it out till she was five months.
A had a checkup today. Weight gain is good. He had to get some silver nitrate on his belly button. Luckily it wasn't infected. It looks yucky right now, but doctor said it's normal. I think he might end up with an outie.
I've been using my k'tan...I don't absolutely love it but I find it much easier to use at this stage. I started using the ergo with a blanket rolled up under the baby's butt when my daughter was 2/3 months. After that point I definitely preferred my ergo and then I like the ring sling at 6 months plus.

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well. We're just trying to adjust to our new normal/get into a groove. DH went back to work today but is off tomorrow for baby's dr appt/weight check. My mom will be here through next weekend, she's been cooking all kinds of yummy things for me. (I ate my weight in biscuits and gravy for dinner tonight.)
I feel remarkably good for being 4 days PP, which is tricky because then I overdo it and end up with lots of cramping and back pain by the end of the day. My milk came in full force today, but my baby falls asleep so quickly that I feel like he's just constantly eating, falling asleep, and waking to eat again. So tired by the end of the day!
