S still naps on me mostly. I sit in our IKEA chair and bounce him until he falls asleep. Then I am stuck there for a couple hours. I can occasionally have success transferring him to the RnP after he is asleep but most of the time he just wakes up if I try to transfer him.
He has fallen asleep in his swing a few times but he wakes up after about 40 minutes and won't fall back asleep.
He is now sleeping unswaddled but I don't think it counts when I am holding him the entire time. All of this makes me worried for daycare.
ETA: finished post... stupid phone posted before I was ready.
We are generally out and about in the morning so naps are in the car seat (he usually stays asleep even when I move his car seat inside when we get to our destination). Or he sleeps in the K'tan if we are at some activity for DS1.
DS1 still naps so I always try to get E to nap in his crib at the same time. That's the same as bedtime - woombie and I nurse him to sleep. Then any evening nap is in the K'tan or on me.

Naps are a crap shoot. Monday and Tuesday I managed to get L to nap in the swing for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Then yesterday he napped for three hours in the morning in his car seat after I dropped of DS1 at daycare.
I think because we don't have a solid daily routine, we don't have a nap routine. M/Tu/F we follow DS1's routine, and W/Th we are running errands and out of the house while DS1 is in daycare.
Right now L's bedtime routine is wipedown (bath twice a week), jammies, bottle, rock in the recliner until he falls asleep then transfer him to the crib.

He naps on me. Period. Sometimes in a moving car. I don't sit there. I just wear him and go about my business. The last few times we've tried transering have been a scream fest.
No swaddling or special suits. He broke the swaddle early and didn't like it much. We use a white noise machine in our room at night.
B wakes up around 7 for the day, and his first nap is usually in the swing around 8:30. This lasts anywhere from 15-45 minutes depending on if ds1 wakes him up or not. The rest of the morning I just follow his ques. We will sleep in the car seat if we are out and about (usually are) or in the wrap while I run errands.
At noon we are always home for DS1's nap. This nap I put B in his MM suit and in his crib he goes, usually awake because I'm chasing a tired cranky toddler who doesn't want to nap. He falls asleep with minimal tears in minutes. This naps lasts anywhere from 1-3 hours.
After this our day falls apart. He definitely needs one more nap before bedtime but it rarely happens. Sometimes if I'm cooking dinner I turn the exhaust fan over the oven on and he passes out in his RnP. This nap is almost always less than 20 minutes long unless I'm wearing him.
Bed time is around 7:30 and he is PISSED he is still awake.
ETA- I only rock him for his last nap if the day because H is home to deal with DS1. The other naps I can't rock him until asleep but he goes down perfectly without a fight usually.
In all seriousness, L hates naps. He will usually give me at least one that lasts around 45 minutes but other than that, each day is different and unpredictable. Sometimes I get 3hours in The RnP like yesterday, but that's super rare.
It sucks. He hates the Ktan. He will nap in his ergo but that just feels so bulky to use around the house so I usually only use it if we are out.
Naps are a crapshoot for us. I usually do a morning feed around 6:30. I'll get up around that time and if E is awake, I'll put her in the swing and she usually falls back asleep for about an hour-90 min. If she goes back to sleep while nursing, I lay her back down in bed and she sleeps for anywhere from 30 min-2 hours. We usually run Round in the mornings, and she sleeps in the car seat or ergo for an hour or so mid-morning. Older DD goes down for an afternoon nap at 1:30, and E is typically tired again. I've tried laying her down in her crib for that nap, but she only sleeps in there for 20-30 min before she wakes up screaming and I quit trying for fear of waking the toddler up. Sometimes she will continue this nap on me or in her RNP. Yesterday she wouldn't go back down and I literally walked her around for 45 min while she fussed and fought sleep. I ended up putting her in her swing, where she passed out for another 45 min. She goes down for the night between 9 and 10 (which is too late for my liking). I've tried to adjust this time to earlier, but have failed miserably. All of her naps in her crib or the RNP involve swaddling and white noise, but swing naps do not. I'm trying to break the swing naps habit because I fear that we are creating an association between sleep and needing that constant movement. I'd really like to get her sleeping on her own in her crib for all naps and bedtime (except when we are out and about), but I'm just not sure how to work out the logistics of that with a toddler around. Hopefully daycare will help get the ball rolling on that...
I wrote a whole big thing out, but this is so true. Don't think that my kid is actually taking two hour naps on the regular. Today he's taking one million ten minute naps. That's just the "routine" I see emerging here.
We had a good thing for a couple weeks. After about an hour, he'd take a short nap, while held. Next wake up I'd get us all ready and we'd head out for a 10am activity - library, hike, or grocery shopping. He'd fall asleep in the car, then sleep in a carrier the entire time we're out.
This week the mornings have been a hot mess of 20 - 40 min naps and if you change anything, put him in the car seat, hand him to someone else, sneeze, the nap is over. By noon he's a wreck, but then he'll sleep for 2 - 3 hours as long as he's held.
Evenings have always been a mess of snoozy, hungry, fussy baby until we start bedtime around 6:30.

Pretty much unpredictable. I try hard to get him in the crib for naps. He is sleeping at night in it, but he just doesn't really like to be there in the daytime, even with white noise, blackout curtains, the works. So most of them are on me.
Lol so F will doze off and on from 6-8:30 if he's in bed with me and I can keep shoving s boob in his mouth.
Around 10ish I usually go for a walk and he passes out in the carrier and naps until the second I get home.m (11/11:30ish) then he's hungry and will pass out eating. If I'm not doing anything and just sit there he'll nap for maybe 20-30minutes? From then until bedtime (7:30ish) he will generally pass out while eating but el oh el to putting him down for an actual nap to give me time to myself or to accomplish anything.
However somehow as soon as we go upstairs past 7 and he is swaddle depth the fan on I can put him down fairly easily for the night.
Ugh naps. We're up for the day around 7 so since I have to drop DD1 at preschool for 8:45 the first nap is usually in the car. I try to get her in the crib for the next nap around noonish (swaddled) but some days that doesn't happen and she naps on me or in the swing. Today it was on me in the back of the house because they are tearing down the vacant house next to us and it was so ridiculously loud. The next nap is a shit show because it usually is around pick up time for DD1 and ends up being like 5 minutes long. Sometimes I can get her to nap in the swing or on me in the evening around 6:30 but otherwise she's ready for bed by like 7:30. I hate naps at this age. I don't think naps got better with DD1 until at least 6 months.
Trying to get HK to take her early evening nap. Here is how this is going- see eyes close as she starts to drift off then she promptly pulls her own pacifier out of her mouth which of course wakes her up. I replace said paci, then repeat..

jenn83 I feel your pain. Afternoon nap consisted of me walking the stroller around the neighborhood in the 90 degree heat. And the second we got home and I stopped moving, he woke up screaming. I guess I at least got some exercise.
rungirlrun I should have gone for a walk today. It's actually in the 80s which feels like a blizzard here but I didn't think of it until it was too late. Hoping for good sleep for yall tonight.

She naps in the very early am on the couch in her Boppy with me after bottle. This is from 6-8.
Mid morning to afternoon: we are usually out and about entertaining the toddler. So, car seat/stroller, carrier. I can sometimes transfer her to pnp when we get home or I leave her in car seat.
Afternoon or evening: pnp or with me pending what I need to do.
I put her in the swing to get her to sleep or rock her or she falls asleep in the car or she falls asleep after a bottle.
For real though. Anyone have any ideas on how to get him to nap NOT on me?
He's always fallen asleep while nursing at night and sleeps fine.
I swaddle him and gave the fan on just like at night. I've even tried side lying nursing him do I font have to move him once asleep. He still wakes up within 15 minutes.

This is basically our normal and I don't let him nap on me. He goes to sleep just fine, but any and all naps that aren't in the MM suit are 20 minutes - 30 minutes tops. I don't have time or the ability to sit with him so he naps longer unless ds1 is at school. Even then I'm usually out running errands.
But I've given up all hope my children will be good sleepers. So maybe don't listen to me ;-)

I'm also not the best for advice as the most successful naps are in the car, but if he wakes up early in his crib, a pacifier sometimes puts him back to sleep. It usually at least gives me 10 more minutes until he remembers he doesn't like pacifiers too much! Unfortunately naps are just so different than night sleep.

No but mine is the same. We don't swaddle but the rest is identical. I try to just wear him and he naps great in a carrier but as much as I love babywearing, I don't love dishes, laundry, gardening, and cooking while babywearing.

Ray DS1 was the worst napper until I sleep trained him at 6 months. Then we fell into a nice little routine! There is still hope yet, Flint may just need to mature a bit.
I put ds down for a nap on his belly today since he's rolled to his belly the last 2 nights. He napped in his crib for 1.5 hours - while dd was also napping! I was paralyzed by the freedom and possibilities and did basically nothing the whole time.

Question for those who have the MM suit. Do you use it for naps? I don't want to, but then he only naps for 20 min in a sleepsack resulting in a cranky afternoon. He will nap 1.5-2 hours in the suit. But I'm afraid he will get too used to it, and it will be hard to transition him out.
We don't really have a nap routine yet. Usually in the morning we're out and about so she will nap in the carseat (if the car is moving) or Ergo. When DD1 goes down for her nap then I'll get DD2 to sleep and I was rocking her till she was drowsy and laying her in the crib but the past couple of weeks have been sleep hell so if I have time I just let her sleep on me otherwise I spend a lot of time getting her back to sleep. She takes her longest nap during this time usually about 2 hrs.
Most of the time I get her to sleep by rocking her or wearing her. If she doesn't get a good amount of sleep she's a bear but she's been fighting sleep like crazy so that's been fun.
I use a white noise machine and I started swaddling her again because her hands are constantly wanting to go in her mouth and it distracts her and also pushes her pacifier out.

i do it for naps. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I can't deal with fussy baby at 4,5,6:00 if he doesn't nap and for whatever reason right now, A wants nothing to do with H during those times only. Dafuq, child?!
