We finally had our appt and u/s today, and everything looked perfect! The little bean was wriggling away like crazy and the heartbeat was nice and strong. I measured ahead of what I expected, so my date was adjusted to slightly earlier. I feel so so much better now that I got to see the baby!

No spotting really today but I don't want to jinx it! Thanks for the good thoughts, everyone. It's nice to have a crowd that can listen to my anxiety... This stuff also sends DH into a tailspin.
Finally had my ultrasound today and got to see baby wiggling around. It's crazy how much like a baby they look already. I had my first ultrasound about 2.5 weeks earlier last time and it's a big difference!
I'm waiting on the dr now. Just got to see my babe on ultrasound...so cute!! They haven't said much yet but looks like I'm measuring a couple days ahead.
Had an appointment today. I almost had a heart attack because the dr couldn't find the babies heartbeat with the doppler. That has never happened to me before in my other pregnancies (besides the CP). She immediately took us to the ultrasound room and she found the baby and the heartbeat which was 142. I'm still shaken up from it, but I'm glad we were able to see the baby and the heartbeat

So sorry for the scare, I can't imagine. I am glad all is ok and baby was just being shy!

It was so scary! And I had DD and DS with me and all I could think was, "how do I act okay/normal with the kids if this is how my day is going to go??" I'm just glad all is okay.

violetrose, so glad everything is okay! At 10 weeks the same thing happened to me but I had to wait 24 hours for an ultrasound. Longest day of my life!

I'm glad you got to see the heartbeat! Maybe because my uterus is tipped backwards, but docs always have a hard time finding my kids with a Doppler. Even my previous kid at 17w.. It never gets easier, always so nerve racking. Hugs.

I don't post a lot but i have been ready everyone's updates. I finally had my first ultrasound yesterday. Saw my tiny wriggling around in there. Kept putting it's hand up by its face which was pretty cute it was the NT scan, but it was much faster than the one I had with DD. I guess this baby was more cooperative? I wish I had more time to just watch and enjoy the baby doing its tiny little baby things. Didn't get to hear the heartbeat yet, but it was at 164. Due date is officially June 10th. That was my edd based on LMP, but I was tracking ovulation and thought it was June 13th. Baby measured on track for June 10th though, so I guess it's a couple days ahead. DD was like that too. I had an appt with the doctor later in the day and since I just had an ultrasound earlier, she didn't do the doppler which was disappointing since I still haven't heard it yet. I know they were super busy so I didn't ask though. It wasn't even the doctor I was supposed to see, but she squeezed me in since my doctor was so far behind, so she was kind of doing me a favor. Anyway, I was super excited to finally "meet" my Tiny and know that things are looking good in there.
Had an appointment on Tuesday morning with my OB and she was able to find the heartbeat with the doppler right away, which was a relief! I was nervous about the doppler since I'm still pretty early so I'm glad she got it pretty much instantly.
I also talked to her about my friend's stillbirth in April and then our loss in June and how appointments seemed to be giving me anxiety. She said since I have hypothyroidism she will easily be able to find grounds for more ultrasounds later in the pregnancy if my anxiety starts to get the best of me. I wanted to hug her! She was just so sweet and understanding about my feelings.
And then to top it all off, I won some sort of door prize with a Sophie teether, muslin swaddles and a chicco baby carrier!
Attempted my NT scan today but baby is way low in my pelvis and refused to change position, so she wasn't able to get it done even using the transvag probe. I get a bonus scan in a week! She did measure the heartbeat at 157 and said there's nothing looking concerning to her so far.
Had our NT scan today and risk was lower than average for my age when combined with the blood work. So between a good NT scan and good NIPT genetic blood test result, I feel good about chromosomal stuff.
We also had a very candid conversation with the perinatologist about our heart defect history and projected risk there. We're a unique case since usually recurrent heart defects are associated with a chromosomal issue/syndrome. We're very lucky that ours don't seem to be, but it also means there's nothing we can be tested for. We'll just have to wait and hope baby's heart looks normal on the anatomy scan.
We also told the kids tonight, which was really fun. We used the Doppler and had them guess why there was a heartbeat in my tummy but not in theirs or daddy's. It was so cool to watch the wheels turning in 4-year-old DD's head after she figured it out. She asked if it was a girl or boy, whether she could hold the baby, and whether they could visit me in the hospital. Then she immediately wanted to call my sister and tell her we're going to have a baby too (my sister is due seven weeks ahead of us). My almost 3-year-old son didn't quite get it as well

I love hearing about everyone's appointments. It sounds corny since I don't know anyone here IRL but I get excited. And the fun hasn't even really started yet!
Those of you who have already had the NT scan, was it external? I'm wondering when we will switch to abdominal ultrasounds. I can't quite remember with DS. I have mine scheduled tomorrow at 12 weeks and I guess I should shave just in case.

wineoclock, My last 2 ultrasounds (10 weeks, 12 weeks) have been abdominal. I believe NT is abdominal as well.
I had my 12 week apt today and of course baby wasn't cooperative for the heartbeat check. The OB whipped out the ultrasound and everything is good I don't know why the MW didn't do that last time and had to send me somewhere the next day unless she can't do ultrasounds.
wineoclock my NT scans have always been abdominal/external but I think there's always a chance that if they can't see something they'd like, they'd switch to transvaginal.

She tried external with me last week at 11 weeks but baby was so far down she had to go transvag. Hoping when I go back this week the abdominal will work. We'll see!

Mine at 9 weeks 6 days and 13 weeks were both external.
NT scan went well today! Baby looks great and saw no reasoning for the spotting a few days ago. Huge sigh of relief. I'm also picking up some phenergan to see if that helps my dinner stay down. Since that makes you so sleepy and I keep puking at night OB said it would probably help best. I sure hope so!
Went in for my 12 week appointment today. My OB has 2 office locations- today's appointment was at the hospital location (not my 1st choice of where to go.). Since the last time I had to go to the hospital location I got messed up on where I was going I made sure to get there early. My appointment was at 10:30 and I checked in at 10:07. After dealing with insurance issues yet again I walked to my waiting area at 10:15. At 10:45 I got up and asked the nurse about my appointment (because I really had to pee.) Apparently they no longer require you to leave a urine sample, so free to use the bathroom. Went and sat back down, waited until 11:05 and went back to nurses station. "You're next." Great. Finally called back around 11:15/20. BP was great, gained 2 pounds since last appointment (doubt it since I had shoes on and haven't had a decent BM in days.) OB came in, talked about previous pregnancy issues and a few questions I had about this one. Pulled out Doppler to find heartbeat, baby was super active! She would find it for a couple beats, then we would hear baby move around and repeat. Finally got a good measure at 154. Other news- she wants a MFM specialist to do my 20 week ultrasound. Said things would be more noticeable/uncomfortable this pregnancy. Skipping the NT scan and testing so next appointment is right after the new year.

sabrinaml that's so frustrating! I know stuff comes up but it's tough. My office has a sticky board behind the desk that has each doctor there (and also the ultrasound room). They update with messages beside each that say "on time" or "15 mins late" so when I walk in, I have an idea of how long it's going to take. Once last time It said "1 hour late" so I rescheduled!

I wouldn't have been as upset if they came out and said they were running behind. It was frustrating because my son had his 18 month check up at 1:30 an hour and a half a way. I walked out of the doc office at 11:45, flew to DC to pick C up and a mad rush to get to his appointment on time. Thankfully traffic was good and I was able to stop and grab myself some lunch and got to his appointment on time.

teachermomtobe I think it's because it's such a large office (it's actually at the hospital) so there's alwayssss like 25 people waiting. They must have gotten tired of fielding so many questions about delays... They are not messing around!
