Morning! Baby O is going back for surgery in a few minutes. Should last about 3 hours. I wish I could be there. Early this morning H came into my bed. S was already in there with me, in between us. I fell asleep and woke up thinking she should be on my other side and had a mini freak out. Hate when that happens.
I have less than 90 minutes to get myself and the kid ready to head out to spend the day with my folks (2 hour drive away). I still need to shower and pack him up and eat breakfast and clean some dishes, and my head feels like it's being crushed under an anvil. Ugh.

Morning! I signed us up for a playgroup that meets for the first time today, but it will probably be nap time. This afternoon is his 8month appt (my practice must really cash in with insurance). And a trip to Trader Joe's! Exciting day here. I've been craving their oranges all week.

That's interesting that you do an 8 month appt. my doctor's office does 9 month as the next one.
Morning! I'm at work, have a busy few hours ahead of me. It's not even 9am and I'm already looking forward to lunch time. DS is at preschool and they have a field trip to the fire station today, so I'm exited to pick him up and hear all about it.

Where do they go from the 8 month, wait until 12 then? Have you been in at 2, 4, 6, and now 8? Ours do 9 month checks but I think only if they find it necessary. DS and DD both my doctor has gone from 6 to 12 skipping the 9 month check. I think she just uses her judgement.
tkford216 you are really ambitious. I would probably skip the shower and do whatever HAS to be done, but I'm kind of lazy.
I normally probably would too but I'm attending my sister's cross country meet tonight and I could really use a shower before I go out in public today, lol. (Eta, I haven't washed my hair in a few days..)

leahks77, how is she doing this morning? Any better?
chocolate, trtlcrzy- we have gone in at 1,2,3,4,5,6, and now 8 months. It's their standard schedule for all the babies. I didn't know that was weird until I realized none of you were going during odd months. Our insurance keeps paying for it, so it's whatever to me, but I'm sure they're getting a nice payout for each of them. I can't remember if we go back at 10 or just 12 unless they have a reason for an interim.
-- It's 9:54 and he's already napped longer today than he did all day yesterday. There's hope for today!

Holy shit. We had well times wake ups last night. One at 10:45 right before I went to bed, one at 3, one at 6:30 when dh wakes up and then normally he falls back asleep until 7:30 but he slept until 9:45!!!! We were supposed to go to daycare this morning for 1.5-2 hrs so that got cut short to an hour only but I'm glad he went, it was the first time he did the whole thing no pacifier!

We've gone to the ped every month. Here they do monthly through month 6 and then every other month through 1 year. But then we were having issues with him being fussy all the time and starting the reflux med so she wanted to see us back at 7 months too.
I signed up for a playgroup type thing a couple months ago but only one other lady signed up also. We had met prior to that and didn't really hit it off so the whole thing fizzled out. I'm sorta bummed; I think he could benefit from some baby friends. Hope yours goes well today if you're able to go, rivers and roads.

We are missing it, because he only ever sleeps more than 40 minutes when we have somewhere to be. Duh.
Sorry your original group fizzled, auchick913. Mom friend-ing is hard. Have you looked on FB for a moms group in your area? That's where I've found mine.

When I was at our mommy group yesterday one of the moms said her 7 yo asked at dinner "if daddy knows you are dating a bunch of women" I think that's the cutest/funniest thing. She just said "yes, he knows "

rivers and roads, there's only so many English speaking folks here and even fewer with children anywhere close to DS's age. Totally sucks. I feel SOO ISOLATED! Good news is we're outta here next year... But DH keeps pushing to do another overseas assignment and I'm like ugh, I'm miserable; do we have to?
Yay trtlcrzy great update! Took L to pedi this morning. Temp was over 103 all night. Good news is ears look fine. Bad is no easy fix... but we spent the day running errands and she just rested and was quiet. Poor girl. She's still so not herself.
