flyakite we're not doing any sort of nap schedule. He'll be 8 weeks Sunday. He'll fall into a schedule eventually, once he starts daycare. I'll wait for that, like fem said.

flyakite - No schedule here either. R tends to fall asleep after nursing so that's when he naps. Either we cuddle, I put him in the PNP to get something done, or I put him in the stroller/carrier to take the dog out. Although lately he's not sleeping all that much during the day.
Not sure when we'll start a nap schedule, but this works for us right now.
Even bed time isn't scheduled yet. Completely based on when he nurses for the "last" (but not really) time each night.
I'm trying to do bedtime starting at 9. Diaper, swaddle, nurse. No really schedule during the day. I do try and get her to nap from 6-8ish and then awake from 8-9. It really depends on the day though. They eventually fall into their own schedule if you let them.

merryrissmas all the hugs. I'm going through some emotional stuff too and I'm 6 weeks out.
I got a text from my boss just asking some general questions about my return to work but it triggered a lot of feelings and I've ugly cried a lot today.
Not only am I feeling overwhelmed about returning to work but I'm frustrated with my postpartum body and clothes fitting and finding clothes to go back to work. It's really bringing me down. I feel like I can't excersise or attempt to lose weight because I'm nursing.

That pic is too cute fem! That's great that she outgrew the allergy.
flyakite DS2 is a month now and I have zero schedules. Maybe I should start some sort of night time routine in the next month or so.
*hugs* singingsea. Hopefully by the time you return to work you'll have a routine down and will feel better about it. I think it's ok to lose weight as long as calorie intake is still what it needs to be, but I'm not positive so don't quote me.
flyakite, LO will be 3 weeks tomorrow, and we don't have a schedule per se, but we are down no a loose bedtime routine (diaper, pjs, nurse, swaddle, bed). We'll add a bath every night at some point (now it's just twice week). With DD, I spent the first month or so observing her natural rhythms and found they stuck pretty closely to the EASY routine, including the amount of awake time at each age, so we fell into the eat, activity/play, sleep routine with me feeding her when she woke up and watching for sleep cues in order to put her down for naps. I figure I'll do the same this time around. DD refused to nap in the infant room at her daycare (too many babies on different schedules), so I was glad we had an established routine at home.
Lots of hugs singingsea. Have you asked your doctor about working out and/or dieting? My doctor cleared me to work out at 6 weeks post-partum with DD, and I didn't find it affected my supply. However, I wasn't able to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight until DD was 18 months months old (I wasn't being careful about what I ate), so I know how you feel. I was really unhappy with my body until I took charge of my diet and lost the extra weight, but I was afraid that dieting would impact my supply. It's a tough position to be in - just try to make small changes/healthy choices.
flyakite, no schedule here for naps but I try to be aware of wake times and put E down for a nap after roughly 1-1.5 hours (easier said than done and evenings tend to be a mess). I think that's longer than recommended at this age but it's the best I can do at this point and luckily it's not messing with night. I did fix wake up and bedtime (7:30am and 8:30pm) based on what worked with DS and at least fixing bedtime with a very solid routine (massage, book, rock, swaddle, nurse) since we brought her home seems to help a ton with that each night so she knows what to expect. I'm trying to start a pre-nap routine for putting her down when she gives me sleepy cues or has been up for a while - right now it's a mini bedtime routine but I'm trying to not always nurse before naps so the daycare transition isn't *so* hard and also so daddy can help out with naps on weekends (although that hasn't happened yet..). That's not going as well since I'm bad at catching her in the right windows and then she won't go in the crib very easy. Plus I keep changing things and we've been on the go so much that we haven't had a lot of practice.

Hugs back at you, singingsea. Returning to work is so hard, I hope it gets easier for you. And I totally get the body image struggle, it is emotionally fraught for sure. Hang in there.
