The past two days my toddler has been miserable in the evening. Everything results in a tantrum. It's exhausting. I'm hoping this is a really short phase. She's wearing DH and I down quickly.

Big hugs, singingsea. I'm sorry you're struggling, but I'm glad you're reaching out for help and we are here for you too! I hope you and your doctor can come up with a plan to help you feel better ASAP!

I can commiserate on that. He is being super picky with dinner too which is usually one of our tantrums and not wanting to go to bed is another big one.

Our tantrums are over things like dinner and bedtime, too. But the past 2 nights they've been over everything and anything (mom gave me a snack and I want dad to, I don't want a diaper, change my diaper...). It's so frustrating!!

Wrong color cup, the ketchup is on the plate not on top of the chicken, I wanted to open the fridge. It's exhausting and you aren't alone!

We all must have the same child. I took DS to the jumpyard on a mommy/son date Sunday and he threw a tantrum in the car because he wanted daddy. Luckily he cheered up once we got there...
Just fucking perfect. Woke up to our furnace not working. Going to hit mid-50's at least later, but right now it's 26* out. Really hoping MH can figure it out. DNW to be spending money on this shit while In not working.
I'm sorry singingsea, I hope you get to see your doctor soon to have a plan of attack, hugs
Oh no LadyNymeria, hopefully it's an easy fix. It happened to me once when DS1 was a baby and my H was out of town. Turns lot it was only a switch that had been turned off accidentally.
I got six hours of straight sleep last night. I seriously thought I might be on the border of ppd but I feel fucking fantastic today. Sleep deprivation is crazy hard.

It is ridiculous how getting a long stretch of sleep can turn things around. This was me at 6 weeks with E when she magically had 2 long nights. I'm hoping the longer stretches keep up for you!
Just a vent.. It's been getting harder and harder to get E down for the night lately.. She had been going down to sleep pretty quickly with nursing but has been getting fussy nursing before bed this week. I'm hoping it's just been due to overstimulation a couple nights and not the start of nighttime being difficult. Still getting an ok stretch but it gets shortened significantly when bedtime takes an hour!
jennybeans, are you already nursing her in a quiet, dark room? I've found that makes a huge difference with LO. As much as I'd love to hang out with DH on the couch while I nurse, it's too stimulating for LO at bedtime. FX bedtime gets quicker soon!

Yeah, we have a pretty strong bedtime routine with white noise, massage, story, swaddle, nursing, etc in her room that we've been doing since she came home. I think some of the issue is that she is dropping her cluster feeds but we've still been nursing hourly in the evening so the timing might mean she's not really hungry and when she's getting milk vs just comfort its bothering her. (Maybe??) I added a bath/rinse tonight to see if that helps calm her and separated her feeds more this evening so we will see if it's better.. I know it will take longer since she will do a full feed but hopefully that helps it be less fussy!
