Another question: how much coffee does everyone drink?
I usually have 2 cups per day but sometimes wish I could have 3 on days that S get me up a lot at night or really early in the morning. Just wondering what everyone else does.
☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
Lots of coffee, usually at least 3 cups and sometimes a Coke with lunch or something.

Alright ladies, I need help. Pumping is going just about as well as I figured. Terribly. I'm pumping at 5am, nursing at 7, pump at 10 & 12:30, nurse at 3:30. Then NOD at home. He's getting three 3 oz bottles at DC.
I can't keep up. In three pumps I get MAYBE 6 oz, and he's taking 9. My water and calories are on point. I think I need to start taking supplements or something.
So what do you ladies take that totally works to boost your supply?

I do the Earth Mama Angel baby Mothers Milk tea 2-3 times a day as well as eat oatmeal for breakfast every day. Occasionally I will make lactation cookies for snacks.
I know there have been recomendations for the More Milk tincture here as well.
ETA: I drink 1-2 cups of the tea to maintain but if I get sick or notice a dip in supply I will up my intake to 3x per day. I have one before my morning pump and then 1-2 before my afternoon pump. I don't think the tea tastes bad so I don't mind drinking it. Amazon has a good price for buying a 3 pack of the 16 tea bag boxes. The NP at my OBs office recommends fenugreek or goats rue to boost supply.

I take More Milk Plus. It works. I probably get another 2 oz a day. I need to be better about fluid intake and calories. I'm not a thirsty person usually, especially during the winter, so I'm constantly having to remind myself to drink. But holy moly the MMP is not cheap. After this bottle runs out, I won't take it anymore and just plan to have A eat whatever I can pump and make up the rest in formula.
So far I've been able to keep up with Irene but with Sophia I had to drink More Milk Plus (tastes horrible but works!), took Fenugreek 3 pills 3x a day, ate oatmeal, and power pumped at night after she had gone to bed. Sorry you are struggling. It is so stressful.
+2 for the More Milk Plus drops. They worked like a charm for me! How many let downs are you getting during a pumping session? Are you able to pump a few extra minutes to see if you get another letdown?

I'm going to order the drops today.
I pump for 20-25 minutes and get 2-3 let downs. I hand express after the milk stops flowing, then I push the "let down" button again. Repeat until time is up.
However, I'm only get 1/4 - 1/2 ounce those second and third letdowns. I feel them, but milk stops after a few seconds.
After being horribly sick on Friday I'm worried my supply dropped. Irene has been super fussy especially on the left side and my boobs don't feel as full. I also pumped tonight like I usually do after she's asleep and got much less on the left and slightly less on the right. I'm trying to hydrate as much as possible but I'm surprised that one stomach bug had this much effect. It should bounce back right?
Okay definitely worried about supply especially in lefty. It feels so deflated. Even overnight since she just gave me a 5 hour stretch (woohoo!) but it hardly felt like there was anything in there while righty at least felt full ish.

Maybe try to feed from the left first, then power pump the left while she nursed on the right?

Lefty is my dud too. B gets so pissed because it takes longer to get a letdown from that side. So frustrating. Anytime I pump I never get more than 1 oz from that side.
Try to start on that side, and if your really nervous about supply you could pump for a few minutes after one or two nursing sessions a day to encourage more supply.
Thanks, ladies. I'll try throwing in extra pumping sessions as much as possible and power pump at night. Trying to drink lots of water and eat oatmeal today. My supply definitely is down after being sick but hopefully bounces back.

ellebelle my supply dropped for around 4-5 days after I had the stomach flu. I hydrated, drank my lactation tea, and tried to eat but it took almost a week to come back. I agree with the others, try to offer that side first.

GUYS. I bought these medela bags that have an attachment that let you pump directly into the bag. This is life changing.
I love that feature but make sure those suckers are sealed! They are single zip, so if there are any openings, they will leak. And to be safe, thaw milk in an empty cup, not in warm water. I've had a lot of lost milk because of those damn seals not being 1000000% secure. It's probably my own stupidity but just wanted to give you a heads up, because I cry over spilled milk.

I IMMEDIATELY REGRET MY DECISION!!
But seriously, good to know, hope I don't get a leak.

So I think my breastfeeding journey is coming to a close. F frequently pops off I'm assuming because he's not getting much. Today I pump both sides twice and only got 2oz total. I just don't have the supply I used to and with pumping being such a PITA at work and being so exhausted at home I think we will be switching over to formula. I've only got enough for 7 bottles left in the freezer.
I'll still try to offer to nurse in the evening but it is what it is I guess
Big hugs Ray. I'm sorry your journey is coming to an end not by your choice. But you should be proud that you nursed Flint for 6 months. That's huge! So don't forget all that you did for him in terms of breastfeeding.

(((Hugs))) Ray I know it's hard to end BFing when it's not really what you wanted. I am sorry pumping at work is so hard. You have done a great job BFing F for 6 months!

Why do you think he's not getting much besides the popping off thing? Pumping output does not equal nursing output. FWIW, A started doing the same popping thing around Flint's age. I don't get much on the pump anymore but we've done weighted feedings and he's getting 4 oz in a session. The LC and I chalked it up to distraction and becoming a power nursling. A nursing necklace has helped him keep focused and calmer during sessions. I'm sorry you feel frustrated. You've done a great job for Flint. If this is where your journey ends, that's okay, but just wanted to throw those other things out there. ::hugs::
