Omg all the cute babies!!!!
I feel victorious and want to share. I get very upset at a lot of toys portrayal of women. Paw Patrol seems particularly egregious as they often leave out the girl pups. We bought a Busy Book for the kids recently that came with 12 figurines. It had all six paw Patrol pups (5 boys and 1 girl) and five vehicles. It also includes Ryder, the human boy. Obviously if they wanted to include Ryder and have twelve figurines like all of the busy books, a vehicle had to be excluded. They chose Skyes, the girl pup. I was livid. My kids immediately threw her aside because she didn't have a vehicle but obviously I was sensitive to the discrimination.
I wrote to the publisher expressing my concern and how if my two and four year old picked up on the not so subtle discrimination I'm sure many other kids did as well. The publisher made a bs excuse and sent us a free Busy Book of our choice. That was about six weeks ago.
Yesterday in the mail I got a nice note and Skyes helicopter:) it's now included in their Busy Book. I'm so excited one little email (probably from others as well I recognize) induced change.

Great job sending the email! Hopefully it'll make them think.
Here's a story the non-moms in my life don't get at all.
When I was in a wedding back in August, part of our bridesmaid gift was a little individual bottle of champagne. I finally opened it tonight, so I texted the bride to let her know. She said, "Oh, are you celebrating something?"
What I wanted my answer to be: "Yes! Both kids are asleep, MH is out, and NO ONE is touching me!" 👍🏻🍾
ooooh i've been to Nest (#8) That store is adorable!! We've done 10, 21, 36, and 37. We've done a few of the other things listed, just not in the city. I'm going to keep this list for sure!
I had to do a few showings today and I fell in love with the lady for showing 1! She has two kids, an 8 year old boy and a 14 year old girl. Her 8 year old is epileptic and autistic. She moved into the town because the elementary school has an excellent program for her son. But- not knowing the area, she moved into a teeny tiny section of the town (one specific road actually) that is not the safest. So she's looking to get out of there ASAP but stay in the same school system. The house is perfect for her. Its got a fenced in yard, has amazing neighbors, and a park right across the street from the house (like you can let your kids out and see them from the living room!). She was so excited about the place that we did the credit screening right away and she passed. She's signing the lease tomorrow
Whew! One less thing to worry about. I was a mess over all this!

I'm drunk.
I had a day today. All three kids were super needy today. H was super sweet and bought me a new running outfit because I've been running a lot lately but I later got upset with him because I spent so much time cleaning.
We have a full time nanny and H had yesterday off. How am I the one stuck cleaning and putting toys and laundry away all day?!?!? H, get off your butt and do it!!!! I cried. He clearly felt bad.
He bought me wine. And put the kids to bed so I could take a bubble bath and drink a full glass of wine.
I dont think he realizes how hard it is when he travels all week. He has been gone three of the past five weeks I've been back at work. I don't think he comprehends how tough it is for me to balance it all.
coffeequeen14 wine and bubbles makes everything better.
I told DH earlier I wanted wine and he said "I don't really feel like drinking tonight". I told him "that's cool" And poured myself a glass anyway. Cheers! Hahahaha
I did take S1 to buy new shoes today. He got light up ninja turtle ones. I don't normally buy character or light shoes but man he was so freaking happy it was worth it.
I don't feel as connected to DD since being back at work and it makes me sad.
Win--S1 finally told me what he wanted from Santa today. I already bought it on sale:) now I need to figure out what to get the other kids. Poor DD will likely just get clothes because we already have plenty of toys. Girls got style though.
stephmeagpt22 It sounds weird, but have you tried making the bottle really warm? My DD will only take one if it's hot, like way warmer than I would think.
I cracked and bought my kid a Merlin Sleep Suit. She's going to be too big for the Rock N Play eventually so we need to transition her to sleeping on her back again. Sleeping without being cuddled is a tough sell for my little lady so fingers crossed!

Hmmm maybe we'll try this.
He used to not care what temp it was at. This kid is killing me.

Ditto this, x3. Also DD3 will only take it if she has no idea I am in the house or I am gone. Fine now that I am at work but a pain before.

Oh man. Both babies are fussy right now. G is either going through a growth spurt or teething or both, and I have no clue what's up with M. We had 4 wakeups last night and I went to bed too late. I've had 2 coffees and I'm barely making it through the day with my eyes open.
On the plus side, H agreed to watch the babies for an hour so I just took a walk to the drugstore. I bought candy and makeup. I haven't worn makeup since before I got pregnant but we're going to a wedding this weekend and I want to look and feel good.

I do room temperature but he seems more pissed about no boob more than anything. But maybe I'll try it warmer. We've tried everything else..waiting longer to feed, 4 different bottles, 3 nipples, nursing first then bottle. And me being gone all day.. I might even try it when he's just about to fall asleep.
joy Good luck! Merlin continues to work well for R. It doesn't make him sleep huge stretches like some say it does for their kids, but he does stay asleep even when his Moro reflex startles him.
In addition to not taking the bottle, he won't let anyone but me hold him, wants to be held constantly, and is super fussy. He's been drooling and chomping on his hand a lot so DH swears he's teething.
