Wasn't sure if other thread was ransoms and opted to leave it for holiday. And I'm not whining today but titles. GUYS. L ALMOST STTN. She was up one time between 730 and 545. And that was 330. So she slept from 730-330. This is HUGE. It's the longest she has slept in her whole entire life. Today is awesome.

leahks77, that's amazing!!! And on a night you weren't working?! WOohoo!
Sorry, britterrss. X is sleeping better, but waking up between 5:50 and 6am as a result of dropping many of his of MOTN wake ups. It's a trade off, I guess. I'll take it. He's sleeping better just in time for us to go on a trip and mess it all up again. Joy.

Yay for good sleep and boo for bad sleep!
I'm still over here dying of a head cold.
DH just called and said he's been tasked with making chili for a work event tomorrow and needs me to find a recipe. Does anyone have an amazing spicy chili recipe I can give him?
So yesterday we traveled across town to the Walmart where we thought H lost his debit card. It was during rush hour. Turns out the card that was turned in was NOT his. So we had to go back across town to his bank for him to get a new card.
Then this morning, he was supposed to get DD dressed for daycare while I fed DS and pumped. But he stayed in bed for 20 minutes longer than he was supposed to, and when he was out of bed, he was on the ipad almost up until we left. Leaving me to try to round up both kids. And we left the house 20 minutes late. So I'm pretty annoyed with him this morning.

I think I have a chronically early waker here too. 530-6 every day. SO takes her in the am and keeps her occupied while he gets ready for work so I get an extra hour of sleep (which is great) and brings her back to me when he leaves. Sometimes she eats and dozes for another couple minutes but usually not. That being said, I'll take early wake up if I can STTN. C was an early waker for a loooooong time. He has just recently started sleeping past 7. Last night he slept 830-730. Someday when both kids do that my life will be complete.

Boo for bad sleep, yay for good sleep! Ryan woke up 2 times between 7 and 6:45 so I'm really happy. I went to bed at 9, he woke up at 2:30 and 5:30 and that was amazing. (My boobs thought less of the deal)

Morning! We had H's 3 year check up this morning and that went fine. Nothing really planned for the rest of today. I think S is starting to feel a little better. We were up a few times last night also.

I'm trying to wait until after she's a year old to introduce refined sugar. But otherwise, this is a "you do you" situation. My personal hang up is realizing how ridiculously addicted to sugar my family is, so I've been making strides to change that all around.

This baby will not pick things up and eat them. He can get it in his hand but then he drops it over the edge. He'll hold and eat num nums and things like that. Think I just need to try more often? I'm hand feeding him shreds of mini pancakes.
I wouldn't make a habit of it, but sure. I try to limit generally the amount of sweets DD gets, and I tend to reduce sugar quantities in things like muffins for myself as well. I definitely have a sugar problem ;-)

Is it a size issue? Like will he eat the num mums because physically they are easier to hold and get into his mouth?

I do a mix of hand feeding and letting L pick things up on her own. Sometimes she has trouble getting things in her mouth. Sometimes she's just lazy and prefers me to feed her. I think as long as they are getting some practice working on that motor skill, it's also okay to feed them finger foods to get them to eat.

Yes I think so. Anything small he will pick up and maybe 5% of the time get it into his mouth. But tbh it's not something I've probably been doing enough. I finally am feeling more comfortable that he won't choke since he "chews" now.

I need ideas for supper. I have been recycling recipes a lot. I made lasagna last night and we'll have those leftovers tomorrow. I need something for today!

Turkey tacos? We do ground turkey, taco seasoning, tortillas or crunchy shells, lettuce, tomato, cheese, salsa.

Or skip the shells, add more lettuce, corn, black beans, and/or avocado and do taco salad.

I feel the same way. We need another meal planning thread for ideas. Tonight we are having italian sausages cut up and sautéed with onions, peppers, and tomato sauce over pasta. Tomorrow is chicken enchiladas (I made a ton of shredded chicken and it's frozen). Friday is chicken thighs and roasted vegetables (one pan meal). These are all repeated A LOT.
So, I just met my new neighbor. She said "my husband is inside doing house stuff but you'll meet him soon." I said "kids are inside, husband is working." Normal, except WE AREN'T MARRIED. I have no idea why i said that?!? Now I feel so weeeeeird. Like I have to make a point of saying "hey, you know that time I said husband? Not true. Boyfriend." Which leads to next dilemma. I feel like "my boyfriend" isn't cutting it. We have two kids and own a house together. But significant other and partner make him sound like he's a woman (which would be fine, but then they meet the giant man I live with and look shocked, and his name could go either way). I'm waaaaay overthinking all this. I texted him and he laughed and said "I'm sure she doesn't care." But I feel crazy now.

leahks77, I bet she won't even notice or remember. If she does, no biggie. You can always just say "it's easier to say that than to explain the whole situation to a stranger." I used to call my parent's long time SO'a and their kids my step mom/step sisters. If I ever got to know someone enough to explain it, they understood. If I didn't explain it, they probably weren't all that important.
Stupid cold/cough. I feel like ass although DS thinks my coughing is funny. Lots of DS amusing himself by chasing his toys around (throwing them and crawling after them is his current fav)
Thanks ladies I know I'm being crazy. I'm also weirded out because I've never said that! So strange that it would just pop out. Even weirder is the strange feeling that I liked it. Woah. Might be time to revisit this talk...

Can I be nosey and ask why you aren't married? Sorry if this has been covered, and feel free to tell me to mind my own business.
I have some friends who are morally against the institution of marriage, and they wound up having a sort of commitment ceremony instead (which I don't think has any legal standing, mind).
My own parents weren't married until I was five (and my brother 4), and for them it was more of a ... well I guess we should finally get around to doing that kind of thing.
