I am wondering why some people are against having content added to our site, or to another link. We came from a place that had the exact same thing. We came here because of the actions of the admin over there. Had it not happened we would all still be over there. Have you read their articles? They are shit. Fluffy little pieces about getting pregnant and parenting, and don't even get me started about their loss articles.
Admin here are talking about adding real articles about all things ttc, parenting, loss; and all written by members of this site. These articles are not going to change the forums here, and I fail to see how you (general) think that they will. We have a chance to actually help the ttc/loss/IF/parenting community here by adding our real two cents, without the rainbows and unicorns that a lot of the other sites have.
Of course we are looking to get new members. The forum as a whole cannot survive if we don't. There will be little pockets that will, such as parenting. but a lot of the boards will die without new people joining.
People will find us eventually. It may not happen as quickly as TB, but there we welcomed newcomers as long as they were not assholes. If they were assholes, then we told them that they were. I do not see how this forum is any different from TB. I don't think that this site was meant to be an exclusive club or anything. And if we have some well written real articles for these people to read, what is the harm in that? Think of all the work that was put in to blogs for individual boards that we directed people to. Most of those were as well written as any article that would be here or any other site.
