Up early this morning...was texting with my sister yesterday and ended up inviting her and her SO to thanksgiving here. I'm super excited to see them but I was up early getting together a menu/shopping list/cleaning list for the next few days. Our house is so not ready to be hosting guests, oy!
Taking DD to the library this morning, then off to brave the grocery store. DS has karate tonight so it'll be a bit of a busy day. Giddyup!
For all the crap the past few days I made myself reflect on the day yesterday for things I was grateful for. I was overcome with love for C all day. He was a stage 5 clinger but a mommy's boy. He gave me kisses and hugs all day, held my hand, snuggled and fell asleep on me. Gave me belly laughs, smiles, and all the love. It was great! Drop off today not so much, lol.
A seems better but still clingy and whiney. Hopefully a day playing with friends will fix it. And tile will be done today. I'll be grateful for a clean house that is back in order!
Good morning ladies! M had me up from 2-4, but we just woke up at 8 so I'll take it! Today I'm meeting packmomma and csb314 at a museum. I'm very grateful for this place and the wonderful people I've met here.
I got a Brazilian blowout yesterday. My hair is amazing. Also investing in an OK to Wake Clock for DD after we found her standing at our bed yesterday morning at 7AM "because she missed meema". OK kid.
ampaints, it was a good weekend. H and I also went to a steakhouse Saturday night and I ate/drank my weight in lamb chops, surf n turf and dirty martinis. Much needed after the last few weeks I've had.

I just need to make it through the next 2 days of actual work. My boss is getting us a catered Thanksgiving lunch on Wednesday so I don't consider that a work day.
The bad: my dad was admitted overnight with respiratory distress. I had just seen him a couple hours before and he looked fine. Looks like the autoimmune disease is back in full force.
The thankful: at least I moved home so I can be around when this kind of baloney hits the fan.

shellyr so glad your dad was released so quickly. I'm glad you are also closer so you can advocate for him and not have to rely on others for information.
Although! When I was watching M and W for a minute a overheard a conversation if a mom telling her kids about how the Earth is actually only 6,000 years old and carbon dating is a lie. She told her friend she'll ask people who give tours in science based facilities if they were there because she has a friend that was. I'm pretty certain I still have a hole in my tongue from biting it. Ah, the fundamentalist south...

I thought I was gonna vomit all afternoon, H got out of taking a for her flu shot so I had to and drag C along and leave work early. And the doctors office never called with the referral. And the tile isn't done. Deep breath in and deep breath out.
I am grateful that I didn't vomit, that I survived the day, and that in 3 days I get to eat turkey!
I'm making butternut squash soup and garlic cheese biscuits for dinner. It's so easy once I start cooking, but so much prep! I don't even want to talk about the dishes piled in my sink right now.
Now that her fever is gone, C has been such a joy tonight. She wasn't really that bad when she was febrile but she's more smiley and interactive tonight. Fingers crossed the illness has run its course.
The kids have had some good bonding time with my parents and brother while we've been here. Abigail's picked up a few new words in the last few days. She'll now unlatch at the end of nursing and tell me "done". She has also learned to say "bye" and "go". I love to hear her talk.
She's also getting pretty skilled with a fork. She proudly fed herself a piece of boston cream pie with a fork tonight and there was nothing left on the plate when she was done. The girl is motivated.
Do you remember the movie Being John Malkovich? There's a scene with a bunch of little John Malkoviches and they are having full conversations using only his name. This is my daughter lately. I caught her having a full on conversation with herself this morning "Arya, arya? Arya arya arya". She cracks me up.
