Hope everyone who celebrated had a great Thanksgiving! We had fun hanging out with family, eating all the food and watching A chase the cat. Her new favorite word is "cat".
Then we came home and put up Christmas decorations. I made this felt tree for A this year and she loves it (and so far is leaving our real tree alone).
Enjoying the long weekend and trying not to think about how busy work will be next week.
Bravo to all you who braved the crowds today. We took the dogs and went hiking with H's family instead. Got out of breath and dizzy since i wasnt used to the altitude.
I'm now 5 days late on my period so picked up some pee sticks. Expecting a negative since i think it's too soon, but still.
The trip home went pretty smoothly. Thanks to all who sent baby sleep dust my way. Abigail actually fell asleep and napped for about 45 minutes on the second flight. It's a far cry from her usual nap, but it got us through our day of travel with her in pretty good spirits.
I've been trying to transition Abigail to a new security blanket. Her current one is totally disgusting because she sleeps with it in her mouth so it's always wet and nasty. Washing it doesn't even help anymore it's so bad. After a bit of work I was able to find her an identical replacement, but of course she has rejected it because it's not worn and stinky. I decided tonight we needed to fight the blankie battle because the old one is becoming a health hazard. Bedtime has been awful as a result. She was full of rage about the blankie, and has woken up crying twice since I put her to bed. This is like sleep training all over again. So terrible. I'm about to cave and give her the stinky blankie just so I can get some sleep tonight. This sucks.
Lol. aydee we were planning to start TTC next summer so A. We could space out holidays and birthdays throughout the year and B. So I'm not 9 months pregnant in the summer in the desert like i was in the swamp. It was negative but i knew it would be. It's too soon after possible conception, which would've been last Saturday. So waiting a week before trying again.
aydee, C has elephant loveis that he sucks on the trunks. They are disgusting. I soak them in warm water and oxiclean for at least an hour then rub the soiled part to try to loosen up dirt...throw in wash. They don't come 100% clean but pretty clean.
aydee could you try putting both the lovies in with her so she can get the newer one roughed up too? When I make w a new tag blanket I usually 1)stuff it in my shirt for an hour ish so it smells like me and then 2) throw it in his crib with the older one that I want to switch out. After a couple of days he's holding both and then I take the older one and wash it.
