Toddler and Preschooler Check-in (11/22)

DS is 14 months

He's learned all sorts of words this week. His favorite has been "ball." He's sees one across the room - "ball." He walks across the room to grab it - "ball." He carries it across the room to me - "ball ball ball." He hands it to me - "ball." I know this will eventually get annoying, but I'm loving every second of it right now.

Nothing too major this week.

He randomly starting spinning in circles last night. DH and I were in hysterics laughing at him, so of course that made him do it over and over again. He'd spin 1-2 times, stop, then lose his balance and fall over. All w/ a huge smile on his face.

Adults are good, been getting lots of sleep this past week.

Once again, I can't think of any good milestones.

She had a cold last week and spiked a high fever. Thank goodness it was just a virus, but it messed with her big time - slept poorly, achy head, clear snot... she was kind of a mess for a few days. But she's okay now.

Story: J found this old Disney princess CD in the DVD drawer and has been listening to it nonstop for about a week. There's a part in one of the Beauty & the Beast songs where a character says "But she's," and J thought he said, "Butt cheese." She thought that was hilarious! And she was really disappointed when I told her what he actually said LOL

I'm okay. I caught J's cold so I'm kind of miserable and not looking forward to traveling with a cold. Meh... life goes on.

QOTW: We leave for my IL's in a few hours to stay the night. Then, Friday after MH gets off work we'll go to my parents' house till Sunday. Lots of driving but whatever. This year is a special circumstance. We usually alternate between families.

Late, but here!

Age: 21 months (for one more week!)

Milestones: Nothing really new? Unless you count her ability to say "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas". Oye, I'm tired of that song…

Challenges: Sleep…girl is going through something weird. Naps are interrupted at around the 1hr mark, but if I go in there I can rock her back to sleep and she will go back down for another 1-2hrs. Same thing at night. Around 11-11:30 is a regular wake up then back down until 5-5:30 which is an hour earlier than normal. Ugh.

Funny/cute stories: I have hauled out all the Christmas decorations and nothing has changed. She still loves running from one musical stuffed animal to another to get them all singing at once!

How are you? I'm good. Tired from the wake ups, but good. I'm up more at night with my toddler than my infant. How does that work?

Anything else? Nope!

QOTW: I'm in Canada so no plans. Just a regular weekend here, though we are planning on piercing the little ones ears this weekend!
