I'm just watching the little ones sleep in their rock n plays while I think about prepping food and watching the parade on tv. I just saw my brothers ex-gf in the Hairspray Live segment, very cool - she'll be in the live TV broadcast in Decmeber also. I hope he caught that and it inspires him to get his shit together.
My mom is an angel, have I mentioned this? Last night I had told her we had a rough day yesterday with Addy's crying. So last night around 10pm she showed up unannounced with oatmeal raisin cookies, Reese's peanut butter cups, a fruit tray, and instant coffee for when I don't have time to make a pot - "to get you through the night". Then this morning she shows up with homemade egg sandwiches. Of course she's offered to stay but she also works and has my brothers kids so I know her hands are full too so I'm trying not to take her up on it until we are desperate.
Also, AW - today's my 35th bday. I am so thankful to FINALLY be celebrating with two babies in my arms!
kleigh, what an awesome thing for your mom to do! Happy birthday and happy Thanksgiving--lots to be thankful for this year
We're on our way to Cape Cod to celebrate the holiday with H's family. Previously we said we were out this year, but I'm feeling so shockingly normal that we decided to go for it. We already realized we forgot to pack D's lounger and her baby carrier, so should be an interesting couple days lol
Btw I weighed myself this morning out of curiosity (and pre-Thanksgiving dinner obv), and I am down 32 lbs from my final pregnancy weigh-in exactly one week ago. Easiest/hardest miracle diet ever.

Happy birthday kleigh! And Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today. Headed to my sisters for a low key dinner. It will be nice to get out of the house. Just enjoying the Macy's Day parade with my boys and feeling eternally grateful that this Thanksgiving I have a healthy baby boy to hold.
dashook, have fun in Cape Cod! Is that you're family holiday gathering place?
H's parents have a house there so we go down a lot in the summer and then the whole family goes for Thanksgiving every year. H and I also like to get down in the off-season a few weekends a year. We've done New Years there a bunch of times too
C woke up around 6 this morning and stayed up for the day. He just chilled in his RnP for a while then feel asleep. He gave me enough time to get ready and come to my parents house before he wanted food again.
H went down to the parade and Lions game so I'll see him for dinner later. I went with him the past couple years but decided to skip it this year. Too cold and I don't want to take C or leave him today.
Happy birthday kleigh! (And your mom sounds like a sweetheart!)
DH and FIL took B to the park so the house is blissfully quiet. I've been doing some prep work for the dish and appetizers I'm bringing to my parents' this afternoon; as soon as C finishes nursing I'm going to grab a shower. We'll leave here around 2 or so. My sister is making some sort of pomegranate/prosecco/vodka concoction as the day's 'signature cocktail' and I can't wait!
kleigh, I love my mom, but I want yours more! Happy birthday!
Happy thanksgiving everyone. I'm just hanging out in the hospital today planning out what to do with my time and most importantly what to eat! DH just left to go to my sister's house for thanksgiving lunch and to pick up DS. He's going to bring him by and E will get to meet his little sis! I've been dreaming of this moment since I found out I was pregnant! I also need to write out a birth story, adding that to my to do list as well.
May you all you ladies be filled to the brim with turkey, stuffing, casseroles, cranberries, carbs and of course pie!

kleigh Happy birthday!! Your mom sounds amazing. And now I want reeses. DH won't let me have any.
Have fun in Cape Cod dashook! I've always wanted to go, but I've failed to make it any further north than New York. So awesome that you're feeling so good already!
starbuck27 I'm right there with you! I can't wait to eat all the things. Unfortunately we won't be eating until 5!! So far away...

We got an early start since Lilah woke up at 6:15 and then Lillian woke up around 6:45. We took the girls to one of the lakes near us to take a walk and feed the ducks. Now DH is playing with Lillian in the yard while I nurse Lilah and watch the parade.
My dad had said we'd have dinner around 3, but I just got a text saying it will be more like 5! We'll just need to have a light lunch I guess, but I'm so ready to eat all the things now! I don't want to wait 6 more hours.
Am I the only one still dealing with hemorrhoids? I thought they were getting better last week & then things took a turn for the worse.
This is not delightful.
Not the only one. Not nearly as bad as with Lillian, but present. Very uncomfortable. I stopped taking my tylenol 3 last week, but still taking colace cause it just is so awful otherwise. Still not pleasant, but not like kill me bad. I've been using a folded tucks pad to help as well. It seems to be working.
My H took the day off to watch football and my mom is cooking a turkey dinner. We kept O home from daycare and went to the museum this morning to look at the "dinosauruses". Good day so far!
So just woke up from a nap... I didn't sleep well last night. I feel like my brain doesn't turn off like it used to. Right now, we have a spread that has colby cheese, cheddar cheese, french onion dip, deviled eggs, olives, egg and olive dip, etc. All for 3 people! LOL

I think I overused the tucks pads because they burned my butt...
Ouch!! I have been taking them out after 15 minutes, only using after going to the bathroom. Hopefully that'll save me!
Dinner was nice but I am concerned now that it was too much for LO with all the noise and tumult. This led to guilt and tears. Ugh.
I finally managed to get a good feed in her by taking her into another room and turning up my white noise app loud. Now she's curled up on my chest and I plan on staying in here for the next little while to give her a break from the loud voices and being passed around. I can't wait to go to bed.
I'm sorry dashook, holidays are so tricky with little ones. Definitely stay hidden and enjoy the snuggles for as long as you both need.
Thanks, lady. I just felt dumb for not even considering what this would be like for her. She's only 6 days old. DS was almost 11 months old last year on his first Thanksgiving; completely different ballgame.
Anyway, what's done is done. She's asleep now being cuddled by her daddy and I'm heading into bed for a short nap until her next feeding.
dashook I'm sorry you think it was too much for DD, that was quite the undertaking. Hopefully you guys can rest tonight and just head back home in the morning??
It makes me ask the question, can overstimulation lead to fussy episodes? I'm noticing that the babies (ESP Adeline) will get so fussy (or seemingly "colic"-like) on days where we've either taken them out to do stuff or have had several visitors. Or God forbid their "schedule" gets off track - as in they need to eat and then immediately nap and if for some reason they don't go right to sleep after feeding they end up screeeeeaming inconsolably for a coupe hours.

I hosted Thanksgiving and it went off without a hitch. However, I just become so overwhelmed with company. I ended up in such a bad mood and just wanted everyone to leave. I'm sure it will get easier as time goes on but right now I can only handle 1 visitor at a time for less than 2 hours.
Then H is asking me if we can have ppl over sat for 8pm football game. That sounds awful to me! Normally, I would be all about it so I will feel guilty if I tell him no.
