How did everyone's Thanksgivings go? Any favorite side dishes I should try out next year? Did anyone forget to put something out? I usually forget the cranberries but not this year.
We had DW's mom with us and there was no political commentary. Yay!
It went great for us! We hosted both of our families and everyone had fun. The turkey had to go back in for an extra 30 minutes but we still ate on time and all the food turned out good. I was so nervous since it was our first time hosting.
We surprised them with our pregnancy announcement and both our moms cried. No one talked about politics, thank goodness.

It was fine. We had a relaxing morning and then ventured downtown to go to a couple of the Smithsonian museums. There were a lot of new exhibits in the American History which was nice because after living here 20+ years, I've seen everything 100x. Finally left and went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Came home and went to Kohls with L and MIL. It was supposed to be a quick trip, but we loitered and then the line wrapped around the store. Crazy thing is, we didn't even buy Christmas stuff. We got the kids new jackets, L got some leggings, and MIL got a scarf for herself. Got home, bought more stuff online and went to bed.
Politics has been avoided at all costs (ILs have been here a week.) I did have a really hard time restraining myself when we were in the hall of Presidents in the American History museum realizing Trump would be in there next year. Shoot me. I muttered a lot to myself.
We had a low key day yesterday. It was just the 4 of us and potty training. We Skyped with mom, sister and SIL in Maine. The food was delicious (M cooked) and the potty training went well.
M went out and got a few things today and we placed a clothing order. Other shopping was done online with just things in our cart so far. I got one of O's Christmas presents made and hoping to get the other one finished this weekend too. We are thinking of getting our tree on Sunday.
Having 2 more whole days off is such luxury. I have really needed a break from work!
