I have some Advent ones that are for 6+ months and I'm wondering if/when I should start using them... What age do you introduce them? What time of day would you give it to LO - a little drink with a meal or something? And what the heck would you put in it?! Just offer some additional bm/formula?! Or diluted juice? Not quite sure what to do with these sippy cups when his liquids are all bm from the boob! Aren't babies not supposed to have water for some time still?
Apologies if these are stupid questions - Just throwin' my sippy cup confusion out there!

I've tried a little water in a sippy cup at "meals" and he has no clue what to do with it lol. He likes chewing/sucking on it, but he isn't getting the liquid out yet. LO is 7.5 months. I just plan to keep trying every once in awhile over the next several months.

DS1 never liked sippy cups. He only took straw cups. We started with water with him around 6 months and it took awhile for him to get the hang of it. When I went back to work at 9 months, he wouldn't take bottles so his BM went in a straw cup.
I just bought a couple straw cups last week to start trying with DS2. We'll use water only to start.

Thanks for all the input ladies! I have baby sippy cups, straw sippy cups, 360' cups... Etc!! What on Earth was I thinking he was gonna be drinking in all these cups??!? Haha! Ftm for the win in the superfluous sippy cup department!!
We've been offering a 2 handled little playtex silly cup with water. Sometimes I hold it for her and she drinks a little, sometimes she tried to drink on her own but is t successful, as of late she just likes to play around with the cup and beat the high chair with it. 8i will be trying the 360 cup ina few months, I never did with dD1

I love the munchkin weighted straw cups. I'm not sure when we're starting but they can have small amounts of water from 6 months. I might try putting his formula in them when he gets a bit older.
I'm gonna start offering him 1-2 ounces of water in his little 6+ month sippys with his meals. His poops have been a little too firm, so ped said go ahead and offer him a little water

I was selected to test a new sippy cup that will be coming out on the market soon. I will probably try it with Damian because the 360 is hard for him with his helmet.

Water is okay now that they're eating solids. I just let DS2 randomly get ahold of DS1's cups. We've got an assortment of types. IDK if he's actually drinking from them but he gnaws on the straws anyway.

We got a 360... she doesn't know what to do with it... Chews the top but doesn't tip it up. I think we'll just randomly give it to her with some water at different points until she gets the hang and it becomes more consistent. If in a month there isn't progress we'll try a different cup (she was 7 months Christmas day). I have no clue when they're supposed to get this. She's only been "chewing" when eating for a couple of weeks.

W has been drinking water since she was 4 months old. She loves water. My pedi isn't concerned because W is growing appropriately and she still nurses a lot. I think the main thing with water is that you don't want them to get filled up on the water , so much so that they aren't gaining appropriately; plusalso, too much water can throw off their electrolytes. I only allow W 6-8 ozs of water a day. The rest of her beverages are BM.
