This conversation is just too horrifying. I would never sleep if I knew there were creatures living in my house. I'm going to have trouble sleeping tonight just from thinking about it.
I once tried to rescue a live baby kitten who already had maggots on it. It didn't make it.
And my cats bring in love and dead things all the time. I preferred picking up the dead chipmunk with a plastic bag to getting a MF live snake away from my parents cat when I was a teen. I stood on a table in the dining room screaming at the cat for 20 minutes first.

I've seen rats the size of cats. You don't want to mess with them, I'm sure they beat people up.
My dog was a hunter and would continually bring me dead things. Once, I went to see what she had in her mouth thinking it was a frog, but nope, a live mouse. I was so freaked. On the bright side, she would alert us to injured animals. We've rescued many squirrels and chipmunks thanks to her.
Clara was acting chill last night and then woke up at 11 and whined and cried for an hour. MH said her stomach was making a ton of noise. This morning went in and poop is everywhere. She seems fine. Got out the door and more poop. FFS we just got over the double EI! Sigh. And we are supposed to have a date night tomorrow. 😞
DS's latest gift from my FIL... It looked like this after like 2 minutes of him playing with it and now DS has been whining all morning for me to fix it.

That is a mess! Your FIL is aware that YS is two, right?

I'm thinking she needs to sign him up for emails that will flood his inbox with age appropriate ideas.
In the never ending saga of BIL/SIL bullshit, I got into a fight with BIL last night.
Background: I think I've mentioned before how BIL mentions something about DS1's speech EVERY.SINGLE.TIME we see him. This started before he was 1, so it's been going on a long ass time. DS1 had a slight delay but "graduated" from therapy this summer. He went from putting together 2 words in July to speaking full sentences in a few short months. A true language explosion. I'm so proud. Also I have mentioned that SIL is pregnant and won't go to the Dr until she has health insurance in Jan, when she'll be out of her 1st trimester. Even though I've told them they should go to PP.
Anyways. Last night BIL says "I read that speech issues are a sign of retardation."
So I said, "Well, I read that pregnant mothers who don't receive prenatal care have a higher rate of stillbirth." (I did read that).
BIL was so taken aback and just stared and sputtered.
BIL: Well we are going to the Dr but there's nothing they can do now anyways.
Me: Yes there is. There is bloodwork, physical exam, STD tests, NT, and etc. You guys are being extremely irresponsible.
BIL: She’s only like 7 weeks. All they are going to do is tell her to take prenatals.
Me: That's funny. She said she was 7 weeks along about 3 weeks ago. Do you know how far along she is?
BIL: Of course. Plus you can't even detect a heartbeat until after 10 weeks anyways.
Me: Where are you getting your information?! We saw both of our kids' heartbeats at 8 weeks. I have been pregnant twice in the last couple years, you know.
BIL: Pregnancy is natural. Going to the Dr is stupid and a waste of money, especially for a low risk pregnancy.
Me: How do you know it is low risk? When is the last time SIL has had a physical or a gynecological exam? She hasn't had insurance since she moved here like a decade ago.
BIL: Uhhh…well she's healthy. (Sure, living off booze, cigarettes, and Cheetos for years is healthy). Plus, when is the last time H went to the Dr?
Me: HE'S NOT PREGNANT!!! I think you guys are being extremely irresponsible.
At this point we are in each other’s faces and MH is telling us to stop. Other things were said and he stormed out of our house, slamming the door. I need to release this. I’ve said my piece. I’m done.
Wtf to insinuating your completely normal DS could be handicapped. That's some high level BS. My son talks really well for his age and my family will still act like they can't understand anything he is saying. Yeah some things aren't clear but he's 2.5. It's not supposed to all be clear.
