I convinced DH to travel on Friday morning instead of Thursday night. I just can't do 2 nights away from home with a kid who is teething and barely sleeps. I just wish we could stay home for Christmas eve.
Just found out our local school district shut down this whole week due to a whooping cough outbreak. Now I feel bad for bringing the boys out in public yesterday.
gooselover2012, that seems really unprofessional of her, I would be really upset. I am a vacation time hoarder as well, but I used all of mine this year for maternity, and a trip home for Christmas, so unplanned time off this year would have killed me.
I just caught up. Oh my goodness, these poor sick babies! I hope everyone is on the mend by Christmas.
gooselover2012, I am so mad for you! How could she forget to tell you such important news! It's good that you have a flexible job, but most people would be screwed! I would definitely ask for an email or text of dates every month.
What did they do? Do I need to come beat somebody up?
My husband's aunt is just incredibly blunt and wants things her way all the time. I planned a family brunch for my parents, her and her husband, my MIL and my sister to come over on Christmas morning to eat and open gifts with DD. I told everyone to come over at 11 because DD wakes up from her morning nap around then. She keeps trying to change the plans to earlier because it's "better" for her. Add that to my BSC MIL, it's just driving me insane. I finally just told MH I am done talking to her, he needs to tell her this is the plan and if she doesn't' want to come, no hard feelings.
Handing crazy aunt off to H sounds like a great plan. That's what I do with my inlaws. Or you could just tell her that if she shows up early, y'all might be in the buff! Lol that would make my mil think twice.
Packing to travel takes all of the joy out of the holidays. Not only am I stressed about remembering everything, I have to have everything ready for Christmas day. We are leaving at 7am tomorrow and we'll be back around 10pm on Christmas eve. I say this every year, but next year we are staying home on Christmas eve and Christmas day.
Nosefrida is getting a lot of use today. DD is getting good at blocking it. Man she hates that thing but it works so good!
DS freaks out and will NOT let me use it on him. He turns his head every which way and then I'm afraid I'm going to stab his nose if I really try to get it in there!
After being so worried, Disneyland ended up being tons of fun. I really did not think DD was old enough (2y 4m) but she had so much fun. We stayed later than I wanted, but even DS seemed to really enjoy It's a Small World. FSIL is in one of the shows, so we got to see her perform, and she met up with us between shows. BIL helped a lot with the kids, so that made it a lot better.
I am sitting in my car with puke all fown my chest and myvhair. My hair is crunchy.
Need more explanation
Baby puked all over me before getting the car. He was still mostly a sleep so I didnt go inside to change. He slept the car ride. I got to our appointment with dress soaked in puke andmy hair too.
Well, M threw up all over his car seat with a fever on our road trip last night. We finally got home around midnight. M seems to be feeling much better today, but what a mess. H has been playing with his train for almost 3 hours, so I call that a success!
Well, we are at the ER to check for a UTI. M won't pee and the catheter failed. We've been here 2 hours already (just M and I). Such a bummer on Christmas.
