Hi ladies! We found out baby number two is a boy and we're having a hard time with names this time. If DD had been a boy she would have been Bennett, but now I'm not sure if I still love it as much as I did. DH loves Sam but I'm not as crazy about it.
I prefer names not be too popular. DD is Celia Kate.
icedtea yeah Sam would be short for Samuel. No other names in the running last time, we were completely in love with Bennett. I'm just not sure if it is on the same "level" as Celia. Obviously I love her name lol.
tortor4 My DS is James but his nickname is Jamie/Jay. Would those be options or is it all nicknames for James? He's only called the nicknames at daycare. We call him James at home
hpnegirl I think I just like James. I don't mind Jamie but I definitely prefer just James.
We prefer James as well, which is why we just call him James. I knew a few James growing up and most of them just went by James and would correct people if they called them by a nickname. If anyone calls DS Jimmy, we automatically correct them. He also has a Jimmy in his daycare class so it makes it easier for us to not use that nickname. Just an option if you decide to use it! I obviously have grown to love it lol (I wasn't a big fan at first, actually)

I feel like what a person is called is much more predetermined by family now. If a parent says, "He goes by James," people respect that. I know kids who are ALWAYS William, Charles, Bennett, James, Oliver. I also know kids with those names who are always Liam, Will, Ollie.

I have two friends with girls named Celia that have a son as well. One boy is named Sebastian, the other is Rene. I think the Sebastian and Celia AND Rene and Celia sound nice together.
