Took lo to the pool this morning. His confidence in the water is growing by leaps and bounds! Love it.
We're supposed to get a big snowstorm this weekend. Everyone is bitching and moaning, but I live for this kind of weather. Lo has so badly wanted to play in the snow and all we've had is a dusting. Can't wait to take him out and play in a real snow!!
Trying to get back on track with exercise. Except for my weekly yoga classes I've been soooo lazy. If lo cooperates and ever takes a nap (ha) I'm going to go hop on the treadmill and run for the first time in months. Fx I don't die.
+1 to dirty dishes multiplying and laundry and recently trash.
And toys. So. Many. Toys. They've taken over the entire house because lo likes to scatter them everywhere. Little cars in the pantry. Random play silverware in the dipe bag. Letter magnets arranged nicely on the toilet lid.
Maybe we can get some new fitness challenges going in the new year? My 6 week PP appointment is January 5th and I'm itching to start working out again!

dashook I'm down. I'll hopefully be halfway through my challenge group by then. We're doing 21 day fix, Chisel (from Master's hammer & chisel), 21 day fix extreme, and then country heat.
Basically all the Beachbody programs created by autumn Calabrese.
Took lo to Breakfast with Santa this morning. Our local fire department puts it on and all they ask for is a donation of canned goods. They did an awesome job. They even had gifts for each child! Lo was all about Santa until we actually got up there. He sat with him but was NOT going to crack a smile for anything. He loved the microphone he got as a gift, though. Later today we have a birthday party for my friend's DS. Really hoping lo takes a decent car nap on the way there so he's not a total disaster.
Wanna brag on my oldest son for a minute: I was studying most of the day today for my final on Monday. My H had to run My youngest son to a bday party and LO was sleeping. My oldest daughter (a few weeks from 15) was home and supposed to be in charge while my H was gone.
So I come home and LO had woken up a bit early from her nap. In the meantime, my oldest son (11) had fed the baby lunch, changed her diaper twice and gave her a bath!!! I initially wanted to yell at him for bathing her with no adults home, but he took great pains to tell me that he sat right next to her the whole time and checked the water temp with his elbow just like I do it. Color me impressed.
My oldest girl didn't get up off her butt the whole time. He is a ROCKSTAR. LO was happy has a little clam with him. I am a lucky mama.
ourcrazynavylife those pictures! Do you have room for me to move in? littlelion and dashook sorry for the rough nights ashlantic I also need to exercise again. I'm only doing weekly yoga, if that! kcrus your son sounds like a rockstar. You are clearly doing something right! He will make a great husband and daddy someday and congrats on your position!
LO leaped out two times today during nap, did it one time ALMOST before during nap, and never does it at night time or in the morning. During nap it's because he's pissed. I'm so not ready for this!

How scary! We haven't switched yet since lo hasn't figured out how to escape... Yet. I dread the day that happens.

Fortunately he was skilled enough to maneuver his way down without falling... maybe unfortunately. I feel like if he fell he would get scared and not do it again?! Ughhhh
Got up a little early and took lo to the store while it snowed this morning. By the time we got home, the sun was out and she no longer needed a jacket. We got donuts and stuff for dinner - beef and barley stew. It's in the oven, cooking low and slow. No one seemed pleased with my menu selection, but I don't care. It's cold outside and it sounded delicious. I plan on making homemade biscuits to help ease the "pain". Laundry planned for today. DH leaves on business again tomorrow, so gotta make sure he's got enough pants.

We haven't yet. DS climbed out for the first time about a month before the new baby was born and I was freaking out because I was so not ready for him to be in a bed and worried about making too many big transitions at once.
Luckily we were able to put his mattress all the way down to the floor and he hasn't been able to climb out since. Idk when we will switch. He does so well in his crib and I feel like once he's not contained he'll never stay in his bed and will just spend all night wandering his room and playing!

Same here, I really don't think either of us are ready and he is a 12 hour sleeper at night in that crib! Right now it has just been a nap time issue- all kinds of nap time issues. Recently he has started refusing naps which makes 4pm on just a big fat disaster!!

Sounds like our boys are colluding. We've had a few napless days recently and it is not fun for anyone involved!

Not at all, I can't imagine dealing with no nap PLUS a newborn! How are you surviving?!

Thank goodness MH has a whole month of paid leave from his new job! Otherwise I am not sure what I'd do on no-nap days. When DS gets tired he gets kind of wild and does a lot of "hugging" (aka head butting) so it's a struggle to keep him from hurting the baby, who is his favorite thing to hug. That's when I get H to run interference.
