H is teaching S to play Warhammer. They've been in the basement for about 3 hours. So we're having pizza for supper. And then I have to do a load of laundry once M is in bed. Actually 2.
silverspoon, mmmm spiced eggnog sounds amazing!! Maybe you and H can reconnect tomorrow while you're out shopping alone. kcrkcs, sorry you have to skip your meeting. I hope you get some quiet time! Lollipop, oh my goodness I am jealous of your baking skills! I just buy the premade dough and call it a day lol. The icing and decorating is the most fun. NellieOleson, ugh what a long day. I am glad your kids are at least "cooperating".
Y'all I am sorry for being so whiny lately. I feel like I haven't been very positive. Things are really not that bad and could be much worse. Thank you for listening to me and being encouraging.
kcrkcs, you are totally right about my anxiety. It is definitely something I battle daily and I take prozac and naltrexone for it. It has actually been helping tremendously. I have been diagnosed with PPD with both kids but I am doing a lot better nowadays. I don't think you are butting in at all, I am a pretty open book
So much snow! We did end up going to church and the kids behaved so well. I was pleasantly surprised! Afterwards I took DD to starbucks and DS stayed with my mom. All he wants to do is walk around now and hates the car seat so i figured it would be better to drop him off first. Then DD went back to my mom's and I went to Target to buy a few presents for some of my friends' kids.
DH is coming home tomorrow. Nervous but happy. I know DD will be excited.
icequeen I bought the pre-made, pre-cut Pillsbury cookies to decorate with S, but I screwed those up lol. I burned them, and the icing I made tasted awful. The sugar cookies my mom and I made don't get icing, they taste best without it. My dad likes them best dipped in eggnog
icequeen I have help part time during the day and dh and I alternate night shifts. He works and is in school. We struggle but make it work.
Thanks @scorioscuba it seems it's just one medical issue to the next. But I guess it's mild considering they are triplets born at 25 weeks. I am lucky.
Thanks for the good outcome dizzycooks. That part of the surgery I'm not worried about. More worried about the hearing loss getting better and how she's going to recover from such a major surgery on her knee. She's soo mobile I just worry about her pain etc.
As for the solids. My kiddos have to stay on formula until one adjusted so end of January. But we do 4 bottles of 7 oz a day and 3 meals at the table a day. It's working for us. But the kids are taking less and less bottle and more and more food. I'm kinda letting them decide what they are ready for.
silverspoon hope you figure out what's going on with J throwing up!

DD1 seemed back to her normal self yesterday, so we sent both DDs 1+2 to preschool today. Only 3 more weeks until DD3 starts daycare at the same place. I'm really looking forward to it, and I think the adjustment period will go quickly. They say to plan 4 weeks for daycare kids because they take it really slow (the first week I'm with her the whole time, the second week I leave the room for a few minutes at a time, etc.), but I think she'll breeze through it.
DH has 3.5 days of work this week, then he's on vacation until Jan 2nd! I'm also really looking forward to that!!
crimsonandclover doesn't spending all week at daycare put a real wrench in your week? I can't imagine. I'm cold hearted though, I don't even do a half day which is kind of the norm for adjustment. It's hard to believe our kids are a year!!
I have to take dd2 for a hearing test today and our furnace is getting checked. (I had the wrong day on Friday!) the high is single digits this week so I anticipate lots of inside stuff. We've been cracking down on dd3s sleep habits and I think we might be making progress. She is so clingy when we get her up though! I feel bad
Would anyone want to do a bday gift exchange between the babies? In January? Or a valentine gift exchange? Christmas would have been fun but it's kind of late.

Well, I planned my maternity leave accordingly and allowed plenty of time for kids to get sick and the adjustment period to be interrupted and extended. Since it's the norm here everyone plans to include it, although some are on a much tighter schedule than I am. And for preschool kids the adjustment period is usually about a week total. It's just for the daycare kids (under 3) that they ask you to have 4 weeks free. Although by week 3 I'm planning on taking some work with me and doing it in the teacher's lounge.
