AW/Vents/ Encounters this week: I had a biopsy done on my thyroid. Not worried about it but I keep my family up to date on Facebook. I never knew how religious a friend was until she got on Facebook. Everything is sending you prayers. I'm not worried about it. The only reason they biopsied it is because the nodule is a proper size to biopsy. 5% chance of cancer.
QOTW: Do you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or another religious holiday this month? What does the holiday mean to you? We celebrate Christmas. To me it is the time when most people are nicer and more thoughtful. They will go out of their way when any other time they wouldn't. But most of all it is time to spend as a family. Start fun traditions that our child will remember and look back on with fond memories.
Sadly this year we haven't been able to enjoy it as much as we should as a family of 3. It has just been very stressful. But after this year we plan to take back Christmas.
AW/Vents/ Encounters this week: Not particularly. I did have something weird that I don't think I mentioned here before. My aunt and uncle are Wiccan, have been for ages. Anywho, my aunt posted some dumb meme not long after the election that I'm pretty sure she didn't really read because one line said something like "you came for our Christianity/Christian values" and a blah blah blah.
QOTW: Do you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or another religious holiday this month? What does the holiday mean to you? We do Christmas. I'm not entirely sure it really means anything beyond the standard family get-together, general reminder to be kind to others, etc. It's definitely something I've been thinking about lately. LO is just over a year, so we have some time to figure out how to explain the holiday season.
Hi there! I haven't posted in this particular board before but I thought it might be nice to check it out.
There is a lot of Christmas madness right now. We celebrate Christmas a little bit but try to keep it simple. I grew up going to Christmas Eve mass and having a turkey dinner but now I don't follow those traditions and it seems like only the commercialism is left. We don't put up a tree but I do get a couple gifts for the kids (and the grandparents send a bunch) and we go to some Christmas events like my H's work party.
What I do like about the holidays is having a couple extra days off work so that we can have some family time.
