DS is ebf though we have introduced minimal solids. I BF him all night (probably 3-5 times per night) and he eats about 14-18 ounces of bm while at school and I nurse him at least twice in the evening. Sometimes he will also have some solids (oatmeal, banana, carrots) at dinner but never more than an ounce or so.
I feel like this is a ton and he is a big guy (almost 19 pounds). I really want to space out nighttime feedings but he wakes up ravenous and attacks me when I get him. they say babies can go 8 hours now without eating but I don't think mine can or at least he doesn't believe he can.
I'm in a very similar boat. I admit I even pushed solids a bit hoping she'd sleep longer at night. She's breastfed and I leave about 12-15 oz for 9-5 and then feed her once or twice before bed and all night. She also has solids 2-3 times a day, though very small portions.
She's also a big baby and always has been...was 16 lbs at her 4 month. Hasn't been weighed since.
He eats 16.5 oz of breast milk at daycare. I nurse him twice in the morning (usually 4am then 7am) and twice in the evening (usually 6:30pm and 8:30pm). He typically sleeps through the night. If he does get up in the middle of the night I feed him then. He hasn't had solids yet. He's a big baby too-probably close to 19 pounds at 5 months.

My baby is tiny (5th percentile) and eats a ton. In the morning he nurses twice and has solids. He drinks 20 oz (breastmilk) at daycare. In the evening he drinks 8-10 oz (usually formula), solids, and then nurses at bedtime. He sleeps through the night. But I'm astonished because he clearly drinks well over 30 oz per day and I've read that a typical baby will drink 24-30 oz per day.

I feed right before daycare. She takes about 18 oz at daycare (4x4.5 oz bottles) although they want us to send more on days she's there 7-5 (some weeks she's only there 8-5 and 4 bottles seems okay). We nurse twice before bed. And then usually at least 3 times overnight. Often more. Many of the overnight feeds it's more me being lazy and knowing she'll go back to sleep more quickly that way. We've started doing solids about once per day but she doesn't actually swallow much
I'm thinking DS has to be over 30 oz too. He averages 17 at school, I feed him once before we leave and it's about 4 oz. I also feed 2-3 times before bed for another 10 oz and overnight at least twice for probably 6 oz. so he's probably around 33oz a day. I've also realized that I've done a lot of weighed feedings.
FF here. Not sure on weights. They were 12lb12oz and 13lb1oz at 4 months and i haven't weighed them since. L typically eats 28-30 oz each day (6 × 5-oz). G must be going through a growth spurt right now because he used to also be taking about 30 oz over 6 feedings, but for about the last week he's been waking around 3 am ravenous and taking an additional 4-5 oz. We haven't started solids yet, but we may here soon since he's been so hungry. They turn 6 months on the 20th, so the time is nearing anyway.
DS2 is about 19 pounds and he is currently only having breastmilk. He nurses a lot. Like almost every hour during the day. He was eating oatmeal cereal for about a week, but then he was waking up every hour at night with an upset tummy. He loved the cereal though. I'm thinking we'll just skip cereal and give him some sweet potatoes.
And of course all the formula recommendations say not to exceed 32 oz in a day, so naturally I'm over here stressing that I'm predisposing him to be obese. But if my baby's hungry I'll feed him, so I don't know why I even worry about it.

I haven't heard about that recommendation, and both of my kids have had more than 32 ounces of formula in a day. I wouldn't worry about it at this point. Once they start eating more solids they'll probably decrease the amount of formula by a bit.
DD is formula fed and she eats a ton. She doesn't really care for solid food yet, but she can throw back some formula. I don't know her exact weight, but she was 14 pounds at 4 months and seems really chunky now. I'm very scientific about all of this 😄
DD is EBF and getting on average 35oz a day currently (maybe even more). She has one 5.5oz bottle in the morning, I send four 5.5 oz bottles to daycare where she goes from 7:30am-5:30pm (she sometimes finishes all four, but sometimes only drinks three and I take one home), She has one 5.5oz bottle in the evening after arriving home from daycare, and one 5.5oz bottle overnight. She eats solids at least once a day at daycare, but has recently had up to two servings of solids at daycare. She's an average sized baby and has always been in the 50% for weight (16lbs, 5ounces at 6months), but she definitely eats over the 32oz that I read was the maximum amount of milk babies should get.
I have no idea how much she's taking in, but she nurses every 2-3 hours during the day and is up to nurse twice at night. We're working on puching that back because some nights she is only up once and is doing well. When she does take a bottle, she can knock back 4-5 oz easy.
Wow. So many of your breastfed by bottle babies are drinking like 4-5 oz bottles. I can only get 3-4 oz ones. And barely 4. Meaning I can only pump that much.
But she's growing. It sounds like more milk wouldn't actually help with the sleep? Any BF babies actually sleep 7-8 hours plus consistently? Or like 4 hours? Lol

He drinks anywhere from 14-18oz at daycare, about 4-5oz bottles. I nurse in the evening. Then to bed. Then he eats 1-2 times per night. What does that add up to? I'm just winging it and hoping for the best sleep possible. I would love to nurse him in the morning too, but I am always rushing to get everyone ready and out the door. And I can't bear to wake him any earlier--it goes against everything I stand for!
My EBF baby nurses all night, sleeps attached to the boob from 11pm-6:30am, then he has 2 2.5-4oz bottles, nurses at lunch time, has another 2 or 3 2.5-4oz bottles, then nurses 2-3 times before bedtime at 7pm, and then nurses a few more times between 7pm and 11pm when I got to bed. He has started to have solids this week but I only give him like a 1/2 a teaspoon.

I'm happy to get 3 hours of sleep. 4 or 7-8 would be amazing.

Stringy don't kill me but my BF baby STTN, usually 10-11 hours. *ducking* He also drinks 7 oz bottles of pumped milk during the day and in the morning will nurse for 30-40 min completely draining both engorged breasts. He's a hungry beast during the day, in other words. The major downside is I can't keep up with him.
My DD is still EBF, we will start trying solids in the new year -- she turns 6 months on dec 28th.
She nurses every 2 hours or so during the day, and 1-3 times at night. Three glorious times in her life she's slept from 8PM-6AM, but normally she's up at around 12 and around 4 to nurse and wakes for the day at 7ish.
I barely pump, but the odd time she's had a pumped bottle she'll take about 4 oz. I'm incredibly fortunate that I can bring her to work with me, so I just schedule breaks in my day to nurse her. No clue how much she eats in a day but it feels like a lot lol.
I love hearing about what solids everyone is starting their babes on, I'm excited and a bit intimidated to start down that road.

Nope. We're usually every 2-3 hrs overnight. Occasionally we get a 4 or 5 (and one time 6) hr stretch.
But my FF daughter didn't sttn until 8.5 months either (which sadly only lasted until 12 months and now she still doesn't sttn)
My BF baby, although hard in so many other ways during the day, actually sleeps well at night. I think it's because of not napping and screaming so much all day, haha. She'll usually (of course I feel like every few days she has something like a cold, teething, etc. that prevent this) do at least a 7-8 hour stretch, usually 9-10 hours. *ducks with frecklesnbrains*
Anyone else have trouble with solids. A few weeks ago (5.5 months) we started with oatmeal and fruits and veggies. She's been so constipated. I cut the oatmeal a few days ago and it helped. But it's not like she was eating that much of it...

Lucky! P STTN like twice months ago, and slept a hell of a lot better overall then.
I'm amazed you can keep up with 7 oz bottles. I can barely get to 4. Did he start solids yet? (I should go re-check the thread...I cant remember things...I'm tired)

iron fortified foods can lead to constipation even in small amounts, unfortunately. We've gone longer between stools since starting, but DD2 doesn't seem bothered, so I am not currently worried.
My EBF baby sleeps for long stretches but almost never through the night. She regularly sleeps about 5 hours in a row, but usually wakes up at least once in the middle of the night to eat then goes back to sleep. Usually that's between 1am-3am. She goes to bed around 8pm. I find no correlation between giving her more milk and improved sleep quality.
I haven't found to be any correlation between more milk and sleep quality either bgkc4. But I wish it were that simple and predictable! My DD will go anywhere from every 2hrs to a 5hr stretch but without any sort of rhyme or reason!
Stringy we had some major constipation issues this week, but prunes helped her tremendously. I am going to give her a little bit of prunes every day now.

I think the only reason I can keep up with 7 oz bottles is the STTN - I pump before I go to bed and when I get up in the morning. We've already had to start formula to supplement though, and I suspect we're generally moving in the direction of weaning.
And yes to the constipation issue!!! We've been doing solids 1-2x per day. A few times we've had pebble poops and lots of fussing after a day that included both formula and oatmeal (both iron fortified). We've been trying to avoid too much of that combination since then.
