I would have had a tubal with my csection if I had made it to my RCS date. I didn't have the mindset to consent to it when G was born. MH is likely going to have a vasectomy, and got the name of a urologist from our PCP when he went for his physical last month. I think I'm going to recommend contacting him after the holidays to see if it can be done before I go back to work.
I would have had tubal with my c-section, but I delivered at a Catholic hospital that absolutely will not allow them, even if your OB tells them that it's in the woman's best interest, health-wise, not to have another pregnancy. Pisses me off.

That stuff makes me ragey. And I'm catholic. But I don't think the church/hospital has the right to force their views on people. The church is there to guide people. If people want to do otherwise so be it.
Thankful I was able to attend DS's Christmas caroling at the nursing home this morning. Imagine 30 some 3, 4, and 5 year olds caroling. So cute. I foolishly forgot my phone so no pics or videos. I am going to ask the daycare director if she can share hers.
I am thankful that MIL figured out that O likes to nap on her belly. I'll only do it with her beside me but now I am getting 2-3 hour naps instead of 20 minutes catnaps only in the k'tan. I was able to get some Shutterfly projects done for Christmas presents today.
I'm thankful for my husband getting a vasectomy so birth control is no longer placed on me. I love our kids so much and even though I have had easy pregnancies and l&d experiences, no more kids for us. Looking forward to our family finally moving away from the baby stuff. There have been a lot of things we couldn't do with our family since there's always been a baby and I like to keep on schedule. I will always miss baby snuggles though.
PREACH.
MH hasn't had his vasectomy YET, but totally agree on moving away from the baby phases (and also being a stickler about schedules). I love snuggling newborns and babies, and I hate to wish away time, but I can't wait until DS2 is older to see how he and DS1 interact. Plus all the fun things we can do as a family. Camping and fishing and hunting and baseball games. All fun things with older kids. Not so much babies and young toddlers.
Half of the time I strongly agree with all of this, and half the time I feel like I'm not done. I am an indecisive person in general but how I feel changes daily.
MH is pretty sure he only wants 2 though, so that might make our decision final. I would never push him to have another if he really didn't want to. We're both only 30 so I tell him to give the first two time to grow up a bit before we decide for sure. Hence the IUD.
fem - Good call. DH and I thought we were done after 2. In fact, I was supposed to have tubal ligation during my 2nd c/s and my OB forgot to do it. Fast forward 6+ years and I got baby fever, talked to DH about it and we decided to go for it, since I still had my one tube. And here I am at age 40 with an infant.

DS has napped most of today. Growth spurt of some kind or another I suppose? Kinda grateful, but DH is getting the wrong idea of what a day at home is like. Already got a "this is easy" from him that was met with a glare.
DS is super gassy and uncomfortable this evening. It sure made solo bedtime difficult. He's acting starved right now, and it's his usual bedtime, so I'm feeding him and hoping he settles. Hopefully I'm not going to be starting a MOTN thread tonight. 😖
*My family of 4. I was so afraid to have another baby for the first years or so after AG was born because of my post-partum hemorrhaging. I'm glad I made the decision to try again. I wouldn't have it any other way.
*H's family for always being there to help us out. This past weekend was really rough on H and I and I needed to take some time outs away from the house. I was able to go and spend some time at his parents. Today H's dad watched AG so I could go to my counseling appointment.
*HL making the switch to formula easily
*All the support I have from my TCF family across many boards
*New furniture coming on Saturday and a new stove coming on Tuesday

How is LO on Prilosec? Is it working better?
Yes! I haven't said too too much because he's barely been a week on it and I don't want to jinx it, but yes. We had maaayybe 3 good days on the Zantac before it started gradually getting worse, so we've surpassed that honeymoon period at least.
I'm curious to talk to his pediatrician next week. The Prilosec isn't meant for long term use. It's only to be given for 30 days, so I'm not sure what the plan is after that. Back to Zantac? Is he healed? Idk. More to come.

I'm glad it's working so far and FX it will continue. I didn't know it's short term usage. Keep us posted. I'm curious what your pedi says. With my first after a while he stayed on the same dosage of Zantac a few months, so that means his reflux got better (didn't have to continue to increase dosage with weight gain). Every now and then I'd skip a dose to see if it has an affect on him. By 7 months old he was completely off of it.
Prevacid is another option. I don't know too much about it though.
Thanks. I will.
My knowledge about this in the pediatric population is nil, but what I gathered from the drug reference guide is that Prilosec is used when GERD is refractory to other treatment (i.e. Zantac) and/or there is damage to the esophagus, either suspected or visualized on scope (erosive esophagitis). It's given in 4 week courses, up to 12 total, to get control of symptoms and heal the esophagus.
I haven't seen Prevacid for peds come up in my (super scholarly Google) research, but it seems logical. We use Protonix in the adult population a lot, for prophylaxis and IV for acute situations. I see that Nexium seems to have been recently approved for use in the peds world.
