DH is off today so I was able to come into the office early while he got DD ready for the day and dropped her off at day care. Apparently he couldn't find any long sleeve shirts so he dressed her in short sleeves even though it is in the 40s today. I am not sure why he didn't look in her dresser, where we keep all of her clothes.
Morning! Preschool day! I do have to run a couple errands while H is there but mostly I want to take a nap. I was crabby (with no patience) yesterday and I've determined it's probably because my period is about to start. So yay for that.
R has a new way to tell me he's ready for more food. (Signing "more" is long gone, he's bored of that.) Now he just bangs on his high chair, both hands, while staring at me all serious. A little monster, this one. Eta. Or he just points at the food and babbles loudly. "Get in my mouth!"
H and I took the kids to see Santa this morning. DD was all excited, up until we got up to see him. She then turned shy. DS didn't cry at first, but both wouldn't smile for the camera, resulting in a deer in headlights look on both of them lol.
I was going to go to the gym this afternoon but my left shoulder is killing me. It's been a few days and there's still a huge knot. I don't know what's causing it but I could definitely use a massage.
Finally got in touch with my dr - everything looked good on my dating US and they confirmed July 16 as my EDD. They're also supposed to prepare a req for me to pick up when I take DS in next time so I can have my TSH levels checked.
It's snowing!!!!! This makes me very happy. I'll gladly take 6 inches of snow but I think we're only getting trace amounts.
My mom is coming and staying overnight so it'll be nice to have the extra help with DS - he's more cuddly and clingy so I'm wondering if we're entering leap 7 as well
DS napped 10-1030 am. It's now 2 pm and I just put him down for afternoon nap. I thought he'd be nice and tired for this nap but not the least bit it appears. He's all over in his crib. Sigh.
I'm counting the days until he's out of it. The last few I haven't really noticed many changes, but this has been a doozie. Takes soooo long to fall asleep. I assume because his brain is in overdrive. And the whining is louder and more frequent here. It's fun.

R has been having trouble falling asleep too lately. He won't fall asleep from rocking or milk or anything. But by mistake the other day I found that if I leave him in his crib he'll eventually fall asleep on his own around the 20 minute mark (after babble yelling for a while). Totally new for him. Have you tried just leaving him alone for a while?

Oh yes lol I leave him alone usually, he hasn't let me put him to sleep in ages. It just makes me feel bad having him there in the dark for so long, like he's missing out or something. He finally passed out at 25 min mark for this nap but it only lasted 40 min. Grr..
Hey! DS woke up warm again this morning (100.8) so we stayed home. Plus, there was a 2 hour late start for school this morning so his preschool was cancelled (again). So at least he didn't miss school, but he was really bummed to not go today. He's been totally normal, no other symptoms and he's not feverish. So kind of a wasted day at home. I think I'll work tomorrow to make up since I have only worked 1 day this week out of my 3.
The snow and wind finally quit but it's below 0 now. Boo. I ordered a pair of ugg boots for DD (I caved) because she needs something that comes up a bit higher over her ankle and some traction on the bottom for when we go to hockey for DS and other places. They arrived today, no rubber sole. So I'm in the process of deciding on another pair or going a different route. I'm so indecisive.

I just found a lucies list for baby booties. These might work for what you want
S is going to get her Christmas wish: 2 front teeth. 2 new teeth popped through her gums I noticed this morning. It's funny because she now has all 4 center teeth and then a bottom and top incision on the left. Lopsided.

Lol this is Ryan. He had his bottom 2, the popped a top lateral incisor and a bottom one. He was like that for a month. We call him our little hillbilly. He just popped one center tooth and is going to have the other extremely soon (like maybe tomorrow)

Well we did the cardiologist appointment today and he's all clear health wise. He has a murmur but it's a normal one and no underlying issues. He was really good during the ultrasound too. Next week is allergies!
And thanks all for the good vibes, I have an interview next week for the job I applied for! I'm scared shitless

Yay for a good appointment and GL on the interview!
So, SO stayed home today so I could sleep after work since Lu couldn't go to school. I've had a few days where I've had to pick them up on no sleep and it's just sucked. And I've called out to stay home too. He has sick days to use anyways. What a GD waste. Ugh. I got 2 hours of sleep before I heard her crying and could tell from her sound she felt awful. Took her temp and it was 101.5 (axillary, so higher than that any other way). Apparently he had taken it and gotten a lower reading and just trusted the thermometer. No. trust your hands if she feels that hot! He's a smart guy. Why does he do such dumb stuff sometimes?!? Vent over. In happy news, we decorated our tree and it's pretty and L loves staring at it. Also, I work tomorrow and then have 4 nights off so YAY!
Babe went from super happy to hating life with a snap of a finger. I don't know. He wants milk, then throws it on the floor. He's hungry but won't eat food. He doesn't want to be held. He doesn't want to be alone. He's acting as if he's completely overtired well before his usual bedtime (when he usually goes to bed happy at that time), and naps were actually good today. No rash, no fever. Give me something to work with, kid!

MH is a prick. Last night I went up to bed and he came up about 5 min after me. Right after he got in the room DD started stirring and crying, which I was brushing my teeth so I don't know if he was noisy coming up or what. I partially blame him for waking her, but whatever. So I go in there and she's instantly fine for me to hold her, passes out, but gets ticked the second I move and want to put her down. We go through this for like an hour, and I did change and nurse her as well to see if that would do it. No. Clearly she just wanted me. So finally I put her down and go in my room and wake up H and made him go in. He was super annoyed but I figured if I sent him in she'd give up and go to sleep. Which she did, after he rocked her for a while but she at least let him put her down and then slept the rest of the night.
Since coming home from work tonight he's mentioned it twice, how it was annoying and unnecessary to wake him since I was already up. This is the first time in DD's almost 10 months of life that he's had to do any sort of MOTN wake, and it was 11pm for crying out loud. It was supposed to be a work day for me and I got up and ready like normal (plus my alarm goes off 45 min before his). He's being a jerk about it and has absolutely no valid argument. And he's stubborn so he won't listen to me explain why I made him go in. I'm not interested in speaking to him for the rest of tonight. Or tomorrow.
