Related to this... what's the deal with shoes? I feel like LO has super small feet, she got a pair of size 2 shoes and they go on and don't come off but they are definitely too big. I can put my thumb down on the front and not touch her toe at all.
What shoes are good for small feet, early walkers that you can wear outside. And also don't cost a lot. I just looked at stride right and an on sale pair is $25! We never have shoes on in the house, I just want something for when we put her down at the playground, etc.

My mom took us to stride rite and paid the $50 for her shoes. I was having crazy sticker shock. K wears hers everyday inside and outside. We are not shoe inside people but with the wood floors she was having such difficulty slipping and sliding when pulling herself to stand or walking with assistance. I can say the shoes have taken a lot of abuse in the two months we have had them and barely show signs of use. I can definitely see myself using them for subsequent children so they were l worth the money. I also liked how stride rite measured her and fitted the shoes to her feet so we knew we were getting the right ones. This was a case of quality over price for us.

We used stride Rite as well for dd1's first shoes. They didn't stand up quite as well because they were more like a closed toe sandal... Bare feet, bare feet getting wet playing at a water table create very stinky shoes. She has owned a few pairs of stride Rite though and I really like them. They still look new after months of wear. The made to play ones are great because they can go right in the washing machine.
E isn't walking, she just wears Robeez to keep her feet warm. I'm not sure what I'll do for her for first shoes. If she'll fit in something of her sister's or not.
Often stride Rite outlets have but one get one half off. I've done that and bought a bigger size for the second pair.

Weird. K's shoes are like a very soft soled sneaker. You can bend them in half but they still maintain their shape.

I should have been more clear lol. It was the time of year. I got ones she could wear bare foot because it was getting to be nicer weather. She wore them with socks for a bit until it was hot. So it was just I wanted something for the summer. They were still the soft soled like you're talking. Just they really started to smell from the bare feet and then getting wet. Other than smell they're still great. I'd have to pull them out to see if the smell wore out haha.
Bought one pair on sale, used their measurer and got a size 3, and will be on the look out for more sales of shoes but if you have other brands you like let me know!

MOTY here but we are team no shoes until she is a confident walker. It is also, you know, winter, so no need for shoes really right now. She only wears socks about 10% of the time too haha.

This is more or less us as well. I never got the different shoes before they could walk at all. E wears second (third?) Hand Robeez boots with no socks lol. That's if I actually dress her that day. She spends a lot of time in her PJs unless I know we're going somewhere. It's actually supposed to be better to learn to walk bare foot.

So we don't wear shoes either yet and will continue not to for home and indoor baby activities but we are just about to be walking, she steps, and it's still playground weather here... she just needs something for when we are doing outside activities, which isn't a ton but we do go to the park/play in the yard sometimes.
We never do shoes in the house, even H and I so that will continue for life.

Oh you are totally fine, I didn't mean to demean you or anything! We are just weirdos. I wish it was playground weather here, it is cold with no snow so I haven't even gotten to take the girls out to play in the snow yet. What the eff is that BS.
I got J a pair of Carter's every step shoes. They come in different stages. He only wears them when we go out. It's cold and he won't keep just socks on for more than 0.2 seconds.
A has 2 pairs of cheapo baby shoes from target. Her feet are so tiny that the 0-3 month ones fit. She only wears them when we go to our toddler play group and she wants to get down out of the carrier/stroller because the rules state everyone has to wear close toed shoes. Otherwise, I'm a no shoes until walking person.

So I have come to the conclusion that K views standing unsupported the same as she did rolling. She did it a few times and she's done with it. Gives no fucks about doing it again and probably won't until she can actually walk. When you try to get her to stand on her own she'll wiggle back and forth so she can't stand straight or will immediately begin crouching. Smart ass.

I'm giving A one more week to start pulling up or bearing any real weight on her legs for longer than 10 seconds before I contact the doctor. Even if I hold her hands and help her stand or try to hold her hands and have her walk, her feet look awkward like she's trying to roll her ankles and she sits back down as fast as she can. Next Tuesday she will be 10.5 months. She will pull up to her knees, but can't seem to push herself up to her feet. I'm getting worried.
We bought shoes for Brady because he chews on his socks and gets them wet a lot, but we don't always put them on. He's in a 4 and could probably use the wide width next time. Seems big to me! He has what we call "fat feet" lol he has a high instep so they're tall from the bottom to the top of his feet and look kinda chubby.
Still no walking here. Not even close. He'll pull up to stand while grabbing onto me, but nothing else.

She took 2 consecutive steps today! She has figured out how to "walk" on her knees though and finds that much preferable to trying to walk, so it may be a bit longer before she really takes off
We are getting really proficient over here! Super close to being a full on walker! She will now walk between objects instead of dropping down and crawling. She is frequently taking more and more steps in a row! I have gotten a few videos but none that are great yet! The curse of the camera, as soon as she sees it she falls. Lol.
I'm gonna call it. We have a walker. She is still a bit wobbly but she can walk across the whole room, turn/change directions while walking, and walk while holding a toy. She almost always tries to walk now instead of crawl, she will even sometimes get back up when she falls and keep going. I don't think I would let her like walk in a store yet while we were shopping, but we have tried the playground and such... she has yet to master the art of wearing shoes.

+1 to an official walker. And just like her brother, she's trying to figure out how to run immediately after. She is so petite that I'm not sure how it would work letting her walk in public so I haven't bothered with shoes...

We have an appointment for a PT assessment tomorrow afternoon because A is still barely supporting her weight and can not pull herself up. She can get to her knees, but it's like she doesn't have the strength to get to her feet. The way she holds her feet when I'm trying to make her stand is weird. She rolls her ankles and uses the sides of her feet. I don't know if it's her trying to get back down or what.

The doctor didn't seem too concerned at her 9 month check up but wanted me to let her know how things were going around now. Last week I emailed her an update and she said probably just a slight delay but might as well get it checked out.
